Health monitoring uses many smart, small, low cost reliable sensors like body temperature, MEMS, ECG, EMG,

Glucose detector, Pulse meter, and blood pressure measurements. The concept of IOT creates global

communication network used for various applications such as military, healthcare, agriculture, smart home, smart

city and smart metering . The development of LTE based 4G, 5G wireless mobile communication networks

makes tremendous changes in IOT based smart applications.

IOT enables to control devices from anywhere in the world with the help of internet connection. The

advancement of remote monitoring and remote controlling in IOT makes products every day [4]. The data collection

in IOT based applications uses sensors.

The proposed robotic hand works the place wherever human cannot enter very often such as forest, cave, largest

mountains, and space research center. The proposed concept is design and implementation of robotic hand to work

with IOT platform. It creates internet of robotic things (IORT). This machine to machine (M2M) communication

was used to monitoring and controlling of robotic arm

Project Objectives

Goal of this research of robotic arm is to design and develop sensible robotic hand for various medical diagnostic applications.

IOT enables  this virtual hand to control devices from anywhere in the world with the help of internet connection.

Project Implementation Method

The design of robotic hand has five fingers. Each finger of robotic hand connected with single DC gear motor to control robotic arm. The Robotic hand provides 14 DOF (degree of freedom). Thumb finger of hand provides 2 DOF, remaining each fingers provides 3 DOF.

The primary control unit is LPC2148 an ARM7 TDMI-S based high performance RISC processor. It has various

built in features. Biomedical body electrodes are connected to Thumb and index fingers of robotic hand which

generate electric train of pulse to the skin of patients. This treatment is used to reduce severe and chronic pain of 

human body. The body temperature sensor connected in middle finger of the robotic hand, Pressure sensor

connected in ring finger of the robotic hand and heart rate sensor connected in ring finger of the robotic hand which

is interfaced with ADC channel of LPC2148. The resolution of ADC is10 bit.

Benefits of the Project

Virtual doctor solve the problem of lack of medical experts. Healthcare system is design to provide opportunity

for diagnostic of patients anywhere in the world using internet. According to the health condition of patient, doctor

can possible to done some treatments (surgery, therapy) by internet. Virtual doctor can able to diagnostic by sensors

such as body temperature, blood pressure and heart rate. medical equipment such as Electroencephalogram (EEG),

Electrocardiogram (ECG), Electromyogram (EMG), Electrooculography (EOG), Galvanic skin response (GSR), and

Magneto encephalogram (MEG).

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

The proposed system is integrating internet of robotic things (IORT) and internet of medical things (IOMT). This integration of this two concept leads to make remote diagnostic system. Robotic hand consist various sensors on its fingers. Patient medical data collected by sensors. Both personal and medical information

updated in unique internet web page. Thumb and index fingers of robotic hand are used for therapeutic operations which is control from the internet webpage and middle, ring, pinky finger of robotic hand are used for diagnostic purpose which is update diagnostic medical data into internet webpage. The proposed work promotes virtual doctor for health care diagnostics and treatments.
