E-commerce is fast growing in Pakistan especially with outbreak of COVID-19. More businesses are taking their businesses to online marketplace. However, ecommerce in Pakistan has often found people divided, which stems from the lack of trust the wide majority has in online shopping. While another challenge for ecommerce is the cumbersome process of shipment and delivery due to which sellers avoid taking their businesses online. In addition, leading e-commerce platforms are exclusive in nature due to providing services only in English language while neglecting the fact that majority of population speak and understand Urdu language. In order to improve trust and quality factor between seller and buyer, we propose an idea of online business marketplace where we will connect buyer and seller through our online platform. In our online marketplace the seller and buyer will have no direct connection rather they communicate through our platform. Our platform will play the of role third body where seller and buyer will be facilitated to provide them convenient and reliable environment. In addition, to make sell and purchase easy, our platform will provide online shipment facility to sellers and buyers. The sellers don’t need to go to the courier service to book the consignment and buyers to return the purchased item rather our shippers will pick them up at doorstep within 24 hours. Moreover, keeping the demographic facts in view, the proposed platform will be able to have two languages Urdu and English which will create inclusive online market environment and widen the customer net. The idea will prove to be a great contribution to the digital economy of Pakistan.

Project Objectives

The project aims to achieve the following objectives

   • To create employment opportunities through digital connectivity for empowering the youth and small businesses to contribute in the digital economy. Particularly the youth and businesses in the remote areas.
2. Contribution to Digital Economy
   • To augment the e-commerce industry and make it one of key drivers of the digital economy of Pakistan.
   • To achieve the higher growth of economy through enhanced e-commerce activities.
3. Consumer Protection in digital environment
   • To assure rapid return of the product
   • To emphasize and improve the quality
   • To minimize the seller abusiveness
   • To boost the consumer’s confidence in e-commerce
4. Digital Payment
   • To encourage the digital payment
   • To ensure the transaction transparency
5. Logistics
   • To Ease the buy and purchase for buyer and seller through

   • To integrate Urdu language in the online market place
   • To encourage sale and purchase in native language through online market place

Project Implementation Method

To implement the idea, we will develop a website using state of the art technology. The website will have all the features of the online marketplace.

Multivendor Website Development

For Website development we will use Django framework and the website will have the following modules

Azure Database

Microsoft Azure cloud database will be purchased as it offers various features such security and speed.
