Project Summary

Project monitoring is essential part of project management. Therefore, when the project is executed, there is always a need to carefully monitor the running activities. This helps all the stakeholders, for example, the project organizers’ and supervisors to keep track of their students’ progress and apply corrective measures in time. Therefore currently such kind of tasks are handled manually. We build this system that can automated handle almost all the tasks of FYP lifecycle.

If not now Then when digitalizing in FYP is a web-based project. This is a monitoring system. It can manages current and previous final year projects. All activities/processes involved in final year projects will be managed. The purpose of this implemented because to achieve the goal of project undergraduate's subject in university. This way, it is easily to track student if they are have problem to finish their project. The step for approach student completely different for each supervisor. So, the best way we can easily track the student through web based system. Final Year Project Managements system follows complete final year project’s life cycle. It is automation of manual tasks in FYP. It maintains Project repository and their documents. It handles Notifications and deadlines. In earlier, data and information for FYP is recorded as manually.  When we recorded data and information manually most of our data and information is lost, so we can design the FYP monitoring system it can manages all the record of FYP.

 The Project Monitoring system for Student FYP allows its student to easily update project problems as they arise. As student update project problem, they will get the related update feedback from supervisor. So, Supervisor will evaluate the progress and assign marks to student based on performance.  This system can helps student to update our project management process. This is helping to keep student on track and providing user with reports that their project success is assured. In this project we can manage and reduce the work methods, FYP management system has to be developed to increase the work processes of the project. The main purpose of this project is to reduce the difficulty of the student and save cost by reducing the unnecessary paper works.

Final Year Project Managements system follows complete final year project’s life cycle. It is automation of manual tasks in FYP. It maintains Project repository and their documents. It handles Notifications and deadlines. It is fully automated system with online availability. It will also maintain student and supervisor meeting logs. It also allows external examiner to review and evaluate projects.

  • This system can be handle all the Final Year Projects lifecycle.
  •  This system is to increase the efficiency and the effectiveness of FYP processes and reducing the manual works that done by the FYP committee.
  • Manage all final years projects lifecycle.
  • Maintain previous projects repository.
  • Predict the previous project base on the project summary.
  • Should be available online.
  • Download Project Documents.
  •  Evaluate the progress and assign marks based on performance.
  • Should be available online.

Project Implementation Method

There are three kind of users.

  1. Students
  2. Project Supervisor
  3. FYP Project Organizer

Modules of the projects

Students:

Register Student: Firstly student can be register in FYP monitoring system.

  • Repository: Repository will contain all projects
  • Make Group: Student can make a new group or join an existing group
  • Choose Supervisor: Student will be able to choose from available list of supervisors
  • Upload Deliverables: Student will be able to upload different artifacts of their projects
  • View Result: Student can view our performance
  • View Status and schedule: Student can view status and schedule the meeting.
  • Schedule/Activities: Students can create milestones and task to monitor our FYP project and manage the work flow processes and development for the project. The Gantt Chart generated will provided a graphical representation of the overall plane and work flow process.

Supervisor:

  • Choose group: Supervisor will choose groups to supervise from his request list
  • Schedule Meetings: Supervisor will be able to schedule meetings with student.
  • Evaluate: Supervisor can evaluate.
  • Add Meeting Logs: Supervisor will add meeting logs with students to the system.
  • Assign Mark: Supervisor can upload marks of the student performances.

Project Organizer:

  • Manage/Create groups: Organizer will manage already created groups or create groups of students who are not with any group.
  • Set Deadlines: Organizer will set deadlines to deliver different artifacts of projects
  • Generate Notifications: Organizer will generate different notifications related to the FYP and these notifications will be sent to all students.
  • Send Emails: Organizer will be able to send emails to all the users of the system.
  • Manage Repository: Will manage repository.
  • Register External Examiner: Organizer will register external examiners
  • Manage the faculty and their roles: Organizer will register new faculty or manage existing faculty and set their roles.

Project monitoring tool is automated software that keeps track and repository of all projects and manages all the processes involved in projects. Our project will manage all current project and previous projects. All activities/processes involved in final year projects will be managed.
