Our project is a handy& compatible device which can measure blood glucose level of human body using the effect of glucose on light attenuation while passing through patient's finger.
Preparing an indigenous, economic, handy and reliable non-invasive glucose measuring solution for diabetic patients.
To solve the problem of invasive, painful& costly glucose measuring methods.
The project is implemented through integrating photodiodes with microocontroller along with several other components to get a system getting attenuated voltage input from patient's finger and then using it to find corresponding glucose values.The final shape of project will be a compatible device where patient places his/her finger in the hollow part, signal is passed through, output voltage measured and checked for corresponding glucose value. The code includes input, processing& output parts, display on LCD and result transmission to android data base.
There are two major beneficiaries of this project:
1. Diabetic patients: they'll get a painless, reliable and cost efficient solution to there daily life routine problem.
2. Telemedicine/pharmaceutical Industry: They'll get a new innovation trajectory to work on and carry for the next years as they strive for automation and innovation of diagnostic techniques.
The light with a wavelength of 940 nm is emitted to the patient's finger. The transmitted light is measured. After processing the received signal, the results are displayed on the liquid-crystal display (LCD) while being able to send them to the Android app by Bluetooth. Experiments are carried out with 48 samples in two phases of fasting and nonfasting states. The results are such that there is a correlation between the intensity level after the transmission and the glucose level.
