The project aim is to implement a system with certain devices, so that it can minimize the major problem of electricity theft that would eventually include the reduction of line loss, power loss, load shedding, boost economy, as well as gives transparency in billing system.
Minimizing Electricity Theft Using Internet of Things (IoT)
The project aim is to implement a system with certain devices, so that it can minimize the major problem of electricity theft that would eventually include the reduction of line loss, power loss, load shedding, boost economy, as well as gives transparency in billing system.
The project uses the concept of Smart Grid, and IoT devices, which with collaboration could work in a way that can provide two way connections between the distribution centers to the consumers. It would provide Advance Metering Infrastructure (AMI).
The project also includes a web based dashboard for the end-user, so that he/she can monitor power consumption of a particular area and act upon any ambiguity.

Device which we create, based on Arduino, Wi-Fi-module, connected to the gateways, based on Raspberry Pi, send data via PHP to the web based portal (dashboard).
Every smart meter would be connected to a Data Concentrator which act as a Gateway.
Methodology of LoRa WAN would be adopted accordingly.
