Micro controller based hybrid energy management system
Electrical energy management system with the accurate measurement and controlling abilities is very important task in many applications. The project discussed here focuses on continuity of supply at any situation. It having a number of energy sources that is main supply,solar energy,and generator for continuous supply to the load. It is arduino based controlling switching the different sources as per given instruction. When main supply shut off arduino automatically turn on solar energy or wind energy depend upon situation, if both energies are not having ability to give supply because of low light (solar) or less wind velocity(wind turbine) than it will automatically kick the generator to continuous supply of load. That project also measure the electrical energy in kWh with modern energy meter.
The main objective is that at any situation load is not distrub due to power interruption. To achieve that phenomena number of different sources attached to supplying the load. the economically beneficial for utility users also. it will automatically switches the different load, the person having no need to turn on and off different sources as per requirement. switching and controlling mechanism are done by low power consumption arduino which is economically cheap. It gives accurately measurement of energy with latest energy meter.
That project is implemented in existing system and also for new system . the project is implemented on large wooden board attached motor for wind turbine and small solar plate of 5 watt and a generator for supplying to the load. arduino for controlling and automatically switching of different sources depending upon situation. ralay for switching pupose as per instruction of arduino. and latest digital energy meter for accurate measurement of energy in kWh.
The main benefit is automatic continuity and reliability of supply to the load at any situation and the other benefit is cost effective because no need of person to turn on and off different sources in industry . it will automatically switch and control according to given instruction of arduino. The project itself having less cost to install in the system and that also be implemented on existing system to reducing the cost.
Hybrid energy management system has input Mode selection switch in order to control the supply manually, or automatically by aurdino nano all instructions showing showing on LCD screen. There is supply selection relay working according to aurdino instructions and current and voltage sensors are installed which provides status of voltage and current of battery and mains supply and a automatic kick starter signal for generator to provide in case of failure or unavailability of other supplies generator starts continues supply (domestic application). This project has measuring circuit which measures the energy of mains supply and shows on its screen in kWh.
