The technology plays an important role in human life and in Charge of enhancing the status and quality of living. A huge variety of devices are being developed that uses the concept of multimedia communication, internet of things (IOT), machine learning that totally changes the way of performing our daily tasks in home, offices or even in industry. Many of us use mirrors to look at ourselves, we intellectually interact with mirror on daily basis to see how we look and how our attire is for getting ready of our routine. So, the suggestion of an interactive mirror that can respond to your voice commands can stimulate anyone. The main motive of this mirror is to elevate the basic reflective mirror with implantation of intelligence to merge the daily routine tasks like reading newspaper, weather updates, getting stock updates, time and date etc. Providing all that information while she/he gets ready. This mirror helps us in the automation of our daily life tasks, making it easier and also development of smart homes. This documentation briefly explains the design and the practical implementation of this mirror
Project ObjectivesThe objectives of our project are as below:
- The project should achieve the functionality of a mirror as well as an image capturing device. Well, performing as a mirror means reflecting the things in front of it and should have a way to capture the image of that specific thing.
- The mirror should achieve the level of intelligence for sensing the right gesture for the capturing of image.
- The project should be delivered in time i.e.; before the final terms.
In our project we are using Agile Implementation Method. This methodology helps us in a way to manage our project by breaking it up into several phases. It involves constant and steady collaboration with team members, leaders and continuous improvement at every stage. Once the work begins, teams cycle through a process of planning, executing, and evaluating. The process continues to make progress until the project is finished.

Magical Mirror:
MagicMirror is an open source modular smart mirror platform. With a growing list of installable modules, The MagicMirror allows you to convert your hallway or bathroom mirror into your personal assistant. MagicMirror is built by the creator of the original MagicMirror with the incredible help of a growing community of contributors. MagicMirror focuses on a modular plugin system and uses Electron as an application wrapper. So no more web server or browser installs necessary!
Python & its Libraires:
We use Python for our project, because it is providing a large number of libraires that we will use in image capturing. Main libraries we are going to use is OPEN CV & MEDIA PIPE. The main reason why we are using these libraries is that, OPEN CV is used in computer vision and image processing while MEDIA PIPE provides us the functionality of processing time series data and like video and audio.
Node JS:
MagicMirror is an information dashboard app written in Node js. You can customise the data and look with standard web technologies like Javascript and CSS. The main cause for using node js is that, it provides us a good way to customize mirror looks.
