Studies show that due to time consuming and unreliable prediction system there is increase in rate of fatalities due to landslide. Only way to reduce these severe effects is predicting landslide efficiently and accurately without Consuming much time. Most of the papers surveyed use sensor technology, and the most commonly used one is WSN (Wireless Sensor Network) since this sensor network provides large scale monitoring. If the chance of occurrence of landslide is high after the prediction an alert is sent to the disaster management department. Each of these Methods have different percentage of accuracy. Our project addresses such problem and gives a feasible solution to detect landslide and generate warning.
Landslide Forewarning system is a Raspberry pi based WSN in which we are using sensors namely; Motion Sensor, Vibration Sensor, Humidity Sensor and Moisture sensors. Data from these sensors is collected by Raspberry Pi which will create warning if the values recieved are higher than provided values.
Project ObjectivesLandslide is one of the repeated geological hazards during rainy season, which causes fatalities, damage to property and economic losses in Pakistan. Due to global climate change, the frequency of landslide occurrence has been increased and subsequently, the losses and damages associated with landslides also have been increased.The entire population of Hunza and Gojal , up to 25,000 individuals, were affected by land sliding in the year 2010.
Our aim is to gives the information and requirements of the Landslide Detection and to alert the authorities.t
Key Objectives of our project includes:
1. To monitor Humidity and moisture of areas subjected to landslide.
2. To generate intial warning when there is a low and moderate risk of landslide.
3. To generate red alert when there is a high risk of landslide.
4. To communicate with revelent authorities about occurance.
Project Implementation MethodFirst we build the model in which we will creat a structure.
In that structure we will install diffrent sensors.
1. Moisture Sensor
2. Accelerometer
3. Weight sensor
the data which will be generated by these sensor will be transmitted to moduel and Microcontroller will process the data.
The Data which we will get from TX wireless moduel will be shared through RX moduel and microcontroller will process it further and give us the warning of three types Normal, Critical and Red Alert and according the warning a message will be generated through GSM to alert the revelant authorities.
Benefits of the Project- This project has many benifits but the main benifit of this project is to save human lives

- Accelerometer (S1): It Detects the movement of Land in landslide.
- Moisture Detector (S2): Capacitive Moisture Soil Detector is used to detect amount of flow inside the soil.
- Respberry Pi: We have used 2 Arduino in this project the first Arduino is for the sensor and the second Arduino is for Display LCD. We are using two LED’s
- L1: LED 1 will be on for warning it will give the warning alert.
- L2:LED 2 will be on it will give alert for landslide
- PC: The system has its information sent to an respberry pi (open source microcontroller board) and uses a wireless channel to direct the information to a PC.
