IOT based monitoring and automatic control of Tube well using field forecasting
The adoption of IOT in agricultural field has gone up immensely in recent years. Even so, the concept of ‘field forecasting and automation of field tube wells’ remains a relatively new one. Most of the existing smart field forecasting has many complex features and capabilities. While these are perfectly suited for large-scale commercial usage, e.g. on a golf course, they are way too elaborate for small farm owners and independent gardeners. The need of the hour is to raise awareness about and familiarity with these smart tube well systems among individuals, particularly since user-inputs are critical for the performance of these systems. Also, it must be kept in mind that the room for error in a ‘smart system’ is much lower than in a traditional set-up. A mechanical failure or a network snag can have serious consequences.
There are plenty of things to be said in favor of smart tube well systems. For starters, they help with the optimal utilization of water, ensuring the uniform watering of plants. With the help of high-end sensors, they can also factor in climatic parameters to make the irrigation routine more efficient. Significant savings are to be had, both in terms of much lower water wastages, as well as the diminished need for manual labor. With intelligent ‘tube well decision-making’ capacities, advanced IOT-supported smart tube well and forecasting of field controllers are changing the face of agriculture. The field is evolving rapidly, and it will be interesting to track further developments in this domain over the foreseeable future.
Tube wells are the most important part of providing water directly to our homes unlike the old age when people were convinced to travel for miles to fetch fresh pile of water, as water is important for human life it’s also important for plant life. As the enhancement of information technology is going on people are more towards the efficient use of information technology in order to save our natural reservoirs and make irrigation more sustainable, Smart Tube wells and smart field systems are a totally new concept of controlling and monitoring Tube wells and irrigating fields from anywhere, we would get information about anything that goes wrong suddenly and could prevent it from making more harm.
Automatic control of tube wells using RTC (real time clock) and atmospheric data collection from different sensors i.e. Rain sensor for collection of rain data, humidity plus temperature sensor for collecting humidity data and temperature data and with the help of this information controlling the tube wells for the irrigation of fields. Online monitoring of fields is also considered for the sake of more information resources in field conditions, it should take a section of one year according to given [table1] split into months.
Lots of time, water, energy and budget is saved for government as well as for residents of these villages which would also increase the life of water pumping machines. In some areas where fields are fed through channels from Rivers can also be controlled and monitored through this method.
The project consists of a controller system that would be programmed to operate 24 hours non-stop. We could get the operational time for the tube wells from RTC (real time clock). The sensor network would allow the farmers to self-monitor the features of the field
The following diagram would be more helpful to understand the methodology as shown in [figure1].
Following are the sensors and hardware’s used in this project.

For agricultural use smart tube wells and the smart field irrigation system will be most helpful in controlling the irrigation of fields automatically. This would be more reliable for fully automatic controlled operations and saving water through time based control. It would be more efficient to log data to the internet in order to achieve better result.
