Project Area of Specialization Internet of ThingsProject SummaryWe are living in the 21st century where almost everyone has their own car, according to Wikipedia there are around 3 million vehicles registered in 2018 in Pakistan with a growth rate of 5.3%. Their security
became an alarming issue in the country. Only the immobilizer key is not a solution, according to a report
by OSAC (Overseas Security Advisory Council) in 2019 car theft only in Lahore city is 4300 with a
change of +1.12%. With the help of IoT, we will develop a car surveillance system that aims to maintain car security using different modules.
Due to an alarming issue of Car theft, it is not possible to just rely on the immobilizer key. The car owner
will always have to worry about their car security but this can be minimized using our surveillance
system. The user just has to install a hardware module in the car and android application in mobile and the car's necessary details will show in the mobile app. Users will able to track a car and add new users who will use the car next time. Also, the user will get a notification when the car is unlocked and started on the mobile app. The car will only be started using face detection therefore a camera will be installed inside
the car. The car will be unlocked using a knock pattern.
The objectives of this application are to produce a working design that is a reliable and effective security system based on microcontrollers. By this, we will be able to get the necessary information on the android mobile application.

These major functions will be performed by our system.
Project Implementation MethodWe are going to use Android Studio for App development, Raspberry Pi 4 which will act as the main component for hardware (microcontroller). The Raspberry Pi along with GPS Sensor, Knock Sensor (piezoelectric sensor), Ultrasonic Sensor will be connected to robotic cars and 2500maH power bank will be used as power supply to Raspberry Pi. In Android App default smartphone front camera is used for face detection and IP camera which mounted on Raspberry Pi will be used for driver drowsiness detection.
Implementation
Android Studio will be used as IDE for the development of android app, Google Firebase will be used as a real-time database while Raspberry pianOS will be used to code the sensors and microcontrollers
Benefits of the ProjectThis project will have value in the market because in the world we are living everyone has its cars which
help them in saving time and energy. We are mainly targeting middle-class audiences who want to make
their vehicle safe. This project will help to track the car, add location, visited location, face detection of
the driver, knock sensor to unlock the car, ultrasonic sensors for collision detection which will help to get
rid of accidents. All these features will help reduce the crime rate. All peoples who want to keep their car
safe will be the main audience of our project.
This project will take approximately nine months for its completion. In this duration of time the project will be completed using countable milestones.
The final product will be the fully functional Android Application with real-time Database and the ability to perform surveillance tasks, The microcontroller will be used and all the microcontrollers will be connected to the 4wheel robotic car chaises which will move around automatically.
