IoT based Accident Prevention and Detection System
In our project we are going to introduce an effective approach for reducing traffic fatalities. This system will be used to prevent accident and reduce the time between when an accident occurs and when responders are dispatched to the scene of the accident. This accident prevention and detection system uses map in mobile phone to detect the long turns where accident can occur and sensors embedded in a car to determine when an accident has occurred. The location of accident will be determined using mobile phone location. As soon as the location of accident is identified, message is sent to the mobile phone containing details and application will collect the reading from the message and send location to the victim’s family. If the accident is not that severe and emergency service is not needed, person using the system can use mobile app, SaveMe to cancel the help option within some time. The proposed system can help to save a lot of lives which are lost due to accidents and late arrival of help.
Accident Prevention and Detection system will help in preventing accidents and saving lives of people. It will help in detecting areas where accident can occur and reducing the time gap between an accident and arrival of rescue service. System will detect the turns dangerous turns and also detect accident and notify the emergency contacts of the victim and rescue services about the accident and where the accident has occurred.
IOT based Accident Prevention and Detection System uses the map in mobile app for detecting dangerous turns and application will play warning sound to inform the user about the turn. In case of accident, there will Crash sensor embedded in engine and back side of the car which will detect the accident by the motion of objects in the car against the speed of hit. Sensors will detect accident and send readings to Arduino UNO and it will send reading to mobile application through GSM module. Mobile application after receiving the readings will detect the location of mobile phone and send the location to the emergency contacts added by the user at the time of registration. Emergency contacts also have to register themselves on the application. In case of less severity, user can cancel the help option within some time. User can set this time at the time of registration.
It will help in detecting dangerous turns so that accident can be prevented and if there is an accident at a place where there is nobody nearby to call for help, our system will detect the accident and send message for help. It will help in using as much lives as possible in as less time as possible.
Final deliverable will include a complete system in which there will be 2 sensors embedded in engine and back of the car. It will be connected to arduino uno which will also be inside engine. There will be GSM module connected with arduino and battery for power supply. GSM module will be connected to mobile application which will do the process of detecting location and sending message for help. There will also be an option for cancelling help in mobile app.
