Project Summary

In this project we intend to build a gesture based system to control the presentation navigation in a multimedia projector using hand gestures. We will be able to navigate, play and pause slides using our hand gestures. We can also control volume and can increase and decrease volume using the gestures. We will also be able to control the video playback option using the hand gesture. We will also be able to control the projector like on/off system  using the hand gesture.This technology will help the teachers and other presenters during their presentation and they don not need to click on the keyboard or use the mouse to control the presentation

Project Objectives

  • To develop a Gesture based Smart glove for controlling multimedia projector  

  • To control the multimedia projector navigation using hand gestures.

  • To control the volume and can increase and decrease volume using the gestures

  • To control video player using the gestures

  • To control projector on/off systen using the hand gesture

Project Implementation Method

We will used accelerometer sensor to measure acceleration of hand in air. Such that motion is positive x-axis, negative x-axis, positive y-axis, negative y-axis and why calculating acceleration we send signal to computer to perform required actions.

Connection of HC-04 Bluetooth Module with Arduino Nano

  1. The Ground pin of Adxl335 connected to Ground of the Arduino
  2. The Rx pin of HC-04 Bluetooth Module connected with D10(Digital pin) of the Arduino
  3. The Tx pin of HC-04 Bluetooth Module connected with D11(Digital pin) of the Arduino
  4. The VCC pin ofHC-04 Bluetooth Module connected to 5V pin of the Arduino

 Hardware Implementation of Receiver

 Connection of HC-04 Bluetooth Module with Arduino Micro

  1. The Ground pin of Adxl335 connected to Ground of the Arduino
  2. The Rx pin of HC-04 Bluetooth Module connected with 5(Digital pin) of the Arduino Micro
  3. The Tx pin of HC-04 Bluetooth Module connected with 6(Digital pin) of the Arduino Micro
  4. The VCC pin ofHC-04 Bluetooth Module connected to 5V pin of the Arduino

 Connection of Multimedia Projector with Computer 

  1. Power Adapter of Multimedia Connected with 220V
  2. HDMI Cable of Multimedia Connected to Computer/Laptop
  •  Language used= C++
  • Software = Arduino IDE
  • Hardware = Arduino Accelerometer push buttons, wires, batteries,ADXL335 ,Bluetooth module HC04, Arduino Nano,Arduino leonardo ,Relay model

  1. This model can be applied in universities, meeting rooms of industries, classroom of collages

  2. This technology will help the teachers and other presenters during their presentation and they don not need to click on the keyboard or use the mouse to control the presentation

  3. can be use to conservation of assistant which is hired only to operate the multimedia Project

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

In this project we develop the two parts sender and receiver. we are using hardware component like ADXL335 ,Bluetooth module HC04, Arduino Nano,in the sender side that is provide to  a signal to the receiver through the hand gesture and 
receiver side we are using the 4 hardware component like   Arduino leonardo ,Relay model, Bluetooth HC04,Electricity switch
In Arduino leonardo we are controlling the movement of hand gesture like x-axis , y-axis etc
and also relay model  is using for projector on/off system  thrugh the hand movement
