Pakistan is among those countries where people are least concerned with their health. Many people suffer from non-communicative diseases (NCD) due to the unhealthy lifestyle of Pakistan. According to the World Health Organization, NCDs kill 41 million people each year. That's equivalent to 71 percent of all deaths globally. Of these, 15 million are premature deaths of people aged between 30 and 69.
“The four lifestyle factors strongly associated with NCDs include diet, lack of physical activity, alcohol intake and tobacco consumption.”
It’s an alarming condition of the health of Pakistan’s youth. It’s a time to take initiative to save our youngster and every Pakistani from unhealthy lifestyle. The idea we are proposing to take our Pakistanis out of unhealthy and hazardous lifestyle revolve around first two main factors of lifestyle associated with NCDs out of four, diet and physical activity.
Our project idea aims at developing an application for improving the health of the users suffering from various diseases by recommending them healthier diet and exercise plans by analyzing and monitoring health parameters and the values from their latest reports related to the diseases and deficiencies like diabetes, obesity, blood pressure and calcium deficiency. The application will also provide a platform where the users can consult to dietitians and fitness trainers on one platform.
Our application will also provide the feature for the one who want to stay healthy and are not suffering from any disease. They can eat healthy by balancing their calories through calorie counter and can log meal with just one touch. Users can also use our application if they want to lose their weight with proper tracking of calories on the basis of their target weight and can also find healthy recipes with whatever veggies or meat, they have on hand using customized recipe feature. Users can also follow exercise sessions with augmented 3D models and can get practical guide to Islamic foods and healthy eating to stay fit.
Project Objectives Project Objectives:The FitVisor project will meet the following objectives:
- The system will groom users about health literacy so that they will not become self-negligent and properly take care of themselves.
- Our proposed application will help our users adopt healthy habits, physical activity, exercise, which can lead to a healthy lifestyle of an individual.
- Our application will be designed with features which is hassle free for a user to understand it.
- A disease diagnosed user will be provided a diet plan and some exercises to improve his/her health which will change accordingly with his health status.
- The user will be advised to conduct a retest (upon time suggestion) and to reenter his report ranges and parameters for the changes to be made in diet and exercises according to his health condition.
- The system will also facilitate the user with dietitians and fitness trainers for users if they want to.
- Users can have exercise follow-up sessions with augmented 3D models.
- Users can also get fruitful results for their healthy lifestyle by following the diets and food suggested according to the teachings of Islam.
- Ones especially housewives who always remain confused about what to cook will the existing food items can get the healthy recipes as per their available items with the customized recipe feature.
In the proposed system firstly, we’ll make datasets from internet and nutritionists/doctors for diet plans, exercises and meal log. And do the data analysis, MYSQL is used as database platform. Then for the development of web application we’ll use Java language for backend, HTML, CSS and Javascript will be used for frontend. Machine Learning technique is incorporated in the system using different algorithms for the recommendation of diet and exercise plans. C4.5 or Random Forest algorithm are going to be used and selection of an ideal algorithm will be based on their accuracy and performances. Then for building 3d models for exercise plans graphics card will be embedded within the system for high quality graphics. Afterwards development of mobile application will take place that will be integrated/ synchronized with web application for better user experience.
