Fire Fighting Robot
Project Area of Specialization RoboticsProject SummaryWe lost many human lives in fire fighting so we are going to build a robot that will perform fire fighting,moreover will have ability to sense the fire and fight against it automatically and it will also be control from mobile that robot will have different kind of sensors to detect the presence of fire.Sensor being used in this project include Smoke detector Sensor, Flame detector sensor and heat sensor.All these sensor will be controlled by the Microcontroller (Arduino). These sensors will be used for detection of fire and microcontroller for processing .Fire extinguisher along with electronic valve (actuator) is used to extinguish the detected fire.
The robot rotates while actively scanning for fire. This scanning is performed by sensors placed on the sides. When a fire is detected, it moves in the direction of fire and stops in front of it and trigger the extinguisher to turn out the fire.
We will program the robot such that when the robot detects the fire it should moves towards it, this is done by using Infrared Flame Sensors. We’ll use three flame sensors in our robot one at the center facing forward direction and other two at each front end of the robot such that the sensors are facing the direction left and right respectively. When any substance is burning it emits some amount if infrared radiation, the flame sensors detects this radiation using an Infrared receiver (Photodiode), we’ll use operational amplifiers to check for the change in voltage of the IR Receiver, so that if a fire is detected the output pin of the sensor will give 0V (LOW) and if the is no fire the output pin will be 5V (HIGH). The robot will moves towards the fire and it also adjusts itself such a way that the fire detected is exactly in front of the robot this adjustment is done using all the three Flame sensors, when the left sensor detects fire the robot turns left so that the flame is in front of the middle sensor and the same for the flame at right sensor, and at the same time it also extinguishes the fire by spraying a jet of water. The robot can also be controlled by any mobile which have a Bluetooth connection.
