Eye Blink Wheel Chair
People who are unable to walk and using wheelchairs exert a great amount of energy using physical strength to turn and steer the wheels. People who don’t even have the strength to move their hands and legs are totally dependent on others to move. The purpose of this project is to make them unable to move whenever, wherever they want. Intelligent wheelchair take commands from eyeblink of the person sitting on it. A wheelchair can be driven forward as well as left or right just with a single command of an eye blink.
The world population is increasing faster and also the people with disabilities (PWD) ratio increasing. The face barriers at their every turn and they need some helper in their daily works. The assistive device act as a boon for them.
We make glasses with the help of two IR sensors Arduino Uno chip a small power battery and a Bluetooth module. We just give a command from the glasses by blink our left or right eye this makes a command which is going to the second part of the project. There will be also a Bluetooth module Arduino UNO chip power battery and a Motor with a boost converter. A command from the glasses goes to the second Bluetooth module and then it makes a movement left right or straight.there is a booster converter which controls the speed of movement.
Minimal effort to mobilize:
Minimal effort is needed to control the wheelchair because you use a simple joystick.
Independence:
With an electric wheelchair, you don't have to depend on someone else to push the chair, allowing you the independence of moving about.
Adaptable for the severity of disability:
The adaptability of an electric wheelchair is astounding. People who have only control of their mouth and breathing have been set up to move their wheelchair using special controls, for example.
Going up hills and ramps:
The power of an electric wheelchair makes it easier for you to go up or down hills.
Power for distance:
When using a manual chair to go far, you need to take into account how much energy and ability you have to come back. With an electric wheelchair, you are only limited by the amount of power left in your battery pack.
:
The aims of this project are used to control a wheelchair by using Eye Blink technology. Eye Blink Sensor which is a highly sensitive sensor and capable of detecting the Eye Blink of a human This sensor detects the Eye Blink and makes use to change the direction of the wheelchair depending on Number of Eye Blinks. For example when it is Three blinks the wheelchair moves in forwarding direction when two blinks were detected the wheelchair has stopped when it moves right the blink must close the right eyelid, and for left direction close the left eyelid.
Automation is the most frequently spelled term in the field of electronics. The hunger for automation brought many revolutions in the existing technologies. One of the technologies, which had greater developments, is the Eye Blink sensor. These had greater importance than any other technologies due to its user-friendly nature. Eye Blink based devices can be easily reachable to the common man due to its simpler operation, and at the same time, it challenges the designers of the device. his project makes use of an Arduino Uno, which is programmed, with the help of embedded C instructions. The Eye Blink sensor detects the Blink Rate and provides the information to the Arduino Uno (onboard computer) and the controller judges whether the instruction is right movement or left movement instruction and controls the direction respectively. The controller is interfaced with two dc motors to control the direction of the wheelchair.
