The answer sheet provided in exams often gets insufficient and students need extra sheets. The main goal of our project is to reduce human effort By creating a machine which can do useful work automatically rather than doing manually by human which can make our work more complex and time consuming. That is why we have decided to make an extra sheet dispenser which can make the work of invigilators comparatively easy by dispersing a sheet itself having a serial number on it. There is no need to assign some person to do this task. Student's data is saved in the backend which can easily be accessible by front office. No such project is invented in the past. There is a screen that shows if your student card data is already stored in database or not. This will indicate how to proceed what to do and how to do. The screen also shows the number of sheets left in the tray. . Basically, extra sheet dispenser reads student’s information like name and registration number through RFID card reader and save them on excel by creating a data base which keep a record of every entry. Meanwhile all the processing will be done using raspberry pi. Furthermore the task of image processing is to process the serial number and create a column on answer sheet to print the assigned serial number in a dedicated row along with name, registration number. Thus, as a result within few seconds a sheet having the specified data about the student with an assigned serial number printed on it will come out of the dispenser and after every entry this record will also be saved in database.
The main goals for the innovation in science and technologies are to minimize human effort and meanwhile maximize the benefits as well as save time. Thus it is more preferable for us to covert human work into machine work. The core objective of our project is to reduce human effort By creating a machine which do something useful work by itself (automatically) rather than doing manually by human which can make our work more complex and time consuming. That is why we have decided to make an extra sheet dispenser which can make the work of invigilators comparatively easy by dispersing a sheet itself having a serial number on it. In nowadays Modern world it is very difficult for teachers and invigilators to distribute extra sheets to each of the student in need and keep a record of every student in examination hall as well as time consuming. We will make a machine which makes these things easy by keeping a record of each and every student like their full names, registration numbers along with assigned serial number written on the top of every sheet. Basically, extra sheet dispensers read student’s information like name and registration number through RFID card reader and save them on excel by creating a data base which keep a record of every entry. Meanwhile all the processing will be done using raspberry pie system. Furthermore the task of image processing is to process the serial number and create a column on answer sheet to print the assigned serial number in a dedicated row along with name, registration number. Thus, as a result within few seconds a sheet having the specified data about the student with an assigned serial number printed on it will come out of the dispenser and after every entry this record will also be saved in database. This will also help invigilators to perform their duty more responsibly and efficiently, it will also reduce the chance of cheating in exams because distribution of sheets diverts the concentration of teachers.
Firstly, RFID module will be used to detect the Student's ID card. This process will take approximately 2 or 3 seconds. After that the scanned card containing a unique serial number will be stored in a database. The new entry will be made in the database whenever the card is scanned against the RFID reader. After that there will be image processing part. The serial number of the sheet will be detected by the camera module and it will be sent to the database and will be updated against the serial number, name and registration number of student whose card is scanned. After that the camera module will do the face recognition of the student and store picture of the student along with the things previously stored. This will ensure a secure system as we have obtained a serial number of student along with his/her picture. Although we have a less probability of error in this case but even if we encounter some problems in future we can verify the record later.
In this project we have reduced the paperwork needed to enter the data of students, serial number of their answer sheet and their attendance. There is no need to assign some person to do this task. Students data is saved in the backend which can easily be accessible by front office. Some students forget to mention their registration number or answer sheet number during the paper but with this project you need not to worry about it. You can also access data using an application. No such project is invented in the past. There is a screen that shows if your student card data is already stored in database or not. This will indicate how to proceed what to do and how to do. The screen also shows the number of sheets left in the tray.
Final delieverable product will have two hardware modules. One will be a portable device of dimensions approx 20*20 cm and other will be dispenser which will be containing sheets which will be dispersed after reading the Student ID card and it's dimensions will be about 50*50 cm. Both of these modules will have following items in them ;
1). RFID Module RC-522 : It will read Student's ID card and then automatically update the database.
2). Raspberry Pi : It will be used for image processing purpose and interfacing RFID module with it.
3). Battery : 12V battery will be used to power the dispenser.
4). Camera Module : It will be used to detect serial number of the sheet and picture of the student too from his/her ID card.
5). Arduino Uno : It will be used to interface RFID module and then display unique serial number of every ID card on serial monitor.
All these components will be fit in a small casing that will be given to the invigilator and he/she will use it during exam to detect every student's ID card. Plus these will be used in a big prototype which will be containing sheets and as soon as one displays card in front of it sheet will be dispersed.
