Emergency Clinic Multi-Sensor Monitoring Prototype Using e-Health Platform
Physiological measurement recorded on admission to the emergency clinic sometimes provides no information about the disease occurring during the course of evaluation. Patient monitoring is frequently made with expensive equipment and complex setting. In the emergency clinic normally there are two categories of patients; a) patients that need continuous monitoring; b) time based measurement.
Portable and operator independent continuous monitoring devices that monitor patients’ physiological signal in emergency clinic may alter management complexity and decrease morbidity.
Technology advancement and low cost device development may address the challenges faced in most emergency clinics in developing countries. Diagnosis and detection of disease very much dependent on the medical practitioners whom has been constrained by the number of patients and limited automation in patient monitoring. In this study a low cost e-Health platform based temperature, pulse oximeter and air flow sensors incorporated multisensory kit integrated with the Matlab platform for continuous recording supported by graphical display and timely average by customize setting would be develop.
e-Health platform will provide an opportunity to design a multi-sensor based long term monitoring prototype to evaluate different types of infectious disease and identify the best parameters for its diagnosis especially in emergency clinic. An appropriate parameter and long term monitoring will be a great help in countries or location which is highly populated and limited in resources.
