Project Summary

We are working on the problem that when we visit restaurant we all have same issues
with waiter that he/she will not take our order and not deliver food on time. So using
this application, we can solve this issue by placing a bar code on each table. The user
scans the bar code and order food. After scanning the bar code user prompt a menu
card and through that prompt user can order their food. At the other end, the
restaurant admin panel will be deploy in the kitchen where the chef checks the order
and set estimated time for delivering order on table. After setting the time, a timer
started at user’s end. After delivering of food when user tap on finish meal then bill is
generated and user has to pay bill on counter during this period the screen displays
please wait and it is completed when the person on counter verify that the bill has
been paid.

Project Objectives

Our application is beneficial for both customer and restaurant. Following are the
objectives of our application.

  •  Firstly, application will show nearby restaurants.
  •  It solves the problem of customers to take their order as soon as possible.
  • It shows timer that in how much time food will deliver to the customer.
  • It is also beneficial for restaurants they have to hire minimum number of
    waiters.

Project Implementation Method

  • This will be a one-time log in application like uber and careem, so the user does not have to log in every time.
  • The user will be display restaurants according to his location.
  •  When the user visits the restaurant, a bar code will attach on every table.
  •  On scanning the bar code, the user will be display menu of that restaurant.
  •  From the menu user can add items, which the user wants to order and finalize his order.
  •  As the user finalizes his order there is no delete option for his order, however the order will be editable until it is not start in cooking phase.
  • On completing the order, a timer started on user screen.
  • There will be another system in the kitchen on which orders are showing (sorted with time).
  • On finishing his meal, the user will get the final bill and the bill will be display to the kitchen and or cooking area.

Benefits of the Project

  • This project will be beneficial for restaurants in terms of waiters hiring as this project would reduce the number of waiters hiring.
  • This project will be beneficial for customers in terms of as it solves two problems 
    • The customer dont have to wait for the waiter to order their food.
    • The customers will display the timer on mobile app accordin to their order.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

  • Mobile App will be used for ordering the programming language, which is most suitable, would be React Native.
  • However, an Admin Panel (Web Application) for the chefs which will be made on React JS.
  • For backend and for functionalities for developing APIs we can use Laravel.
