Project Summary

In today’s digital era, the offline market is being replaced by the online market. Likewise, the tailoring service is operating offline too, in traditional method people had to visit tailors’ multiple times to get their clothes stitched. This process is very hectic and time taking, especially for the people of metropolitan cities, that’s why we are proposing an online system “DressUp” which will enable the people to get their clothes stitched by staying at home. Our system will be based on four modules namely tailors, customers, riders and admin modules. Furthermore, we are promoting cultural and traditional embroidery by offering handmade stitched stuff like cultural dresses. With our system the customers can try on the available stock in real-time. We are also giving an opportunity to women and transgenders who cannot open shops in the market-place, but with the help of this system they can easily sign up and start offering their services. Additionally, our system will offer digital payments methods, and the system will be available in English as well as Urdu languages.  Our system will also have an admin module that will support administrative functionalities of the system like keeping track of records. The significant outcomes of our system will be increase in the employment rate, encouraging skilled women and transgenders, and promoting traditional stitching.

Our targeted customers are resident of metropolitan cities, working 9 to 5 and six days a week and those who need a medium to search a credible tailor in their nearby.

Our platform will provide employments to the new tailors and riders for stitching and pick up and deliver services respectively. Our platform will encourage the females, who cannot setup a physical shop in the market-place to register and start getting the customers. In our research we found out that in most of the transgenders in our society they are skilled and can offer their tailoring services. But due to the society constrains they cannot open shops publicly but with our platform they can also register themselves and start offering the services. This will make them independent and will create a positive picture in the society.

Project Objectives

1. Our objective is to replace the time and effort taking process of finding a credible tailor and getting the quality stitching by using a digital platform where a customer can find a credible tailor in his/her nearby and get the quality service without going out in the market-place and finding one.
2. Also, there is a shame factor in giving out the measurements to tailor in public, however with our platform the customer can select the standard sizes, give manual sizes or provide a sample suit for the measurement purpose.
3. And on tailors’ perspective, our goal is to remove the bargaining factor and the delays in the payments from the customers. Also, our goal is to minimize the expenses of tailor that they need to bear in order to maintain their shops. We also claim to get more customers with the help of our platform.
4. We also aim to integrate online payment system since digital payments are easier than paying in cash. Our platform will be available in Urdu language to overcome the language barrier.

At the end of the day we’ll be having a user friendly application which contains 3 modules for riders, tailors and customers.

Project Implementation Method

We will use agile methodology. Agile methodology provides a way to manage software development by breaking it up into several components. The agile cycle involves planning, execution, and evaluation phases and continuous improvement at every stage. Following are the key benefits of using agile development:

For a project to be successful, a proper planning and methodology is must to be followed in order to make the project successful. A methodology for software development is a must and if followed well, it helps in making the project successful or else a project without following a methodology there is a very high chance that the project will fail. For the proposed system, the decision has been made in order to use agile model to build this project. This methodology is one of the oldest methodologies being used. The agile methodology is a way to manage a project by breaking it up into several phases. It involves constant collaboration with stakeholders and continuous improvement at every stage. Once the work begins, teams cycle through a process of planning, executing, and evaluating. Continuous collaboration is vital, both with team members and project stakeholders.

There are many reasons that let us choose agile model over the other methodologies, which are applicable to this project but not suitable for the proposed system. The first reason why it was decided to choose agile model to develop this project was that the requirements of the proposed system are already written and there is a very less chance that there will be any change made to the requirements. Then, we are familiarized with this methodology, which makes it easier to understand and use this model. All these reasons led me to choose agile model for the development of this project.

Functional Requirments for User

1. Gui: our system will provide user friendly interface for users.
2. Signup: our purposed system will allow users to sign up.
3. Login: our purposed system will allow users to login on successful signup.
4. Profile: users can check and edit profile.
5. Tailor search: after successful login, the customers can search tailors in their nearby.
6. Embroidery: customer can check out stock of cultural dresses and stuff.
7. Check tailor details: customers can check the tailor’s details like rating, prices, and services.
8. Chat box: by using chat box the users can communicate with each other, this will be encrypted using advance encryption system (aes) and will be filtered so that the users cannot share personal contact details.
9. Notifications: the users can get notifications like status of order, and different offers.
10. Orders: user can get details of on-going and completed orders.
11. Settings: users can set language of the app, get support, set available or not available, can logout can check terms of services.
12. Create order: tailor can create order by providing details like timeline, service, and charges.
13. Earnings: tailor and riders can check their earnings
14. Logout: users can logout of the system.

Functional Requirments for Admin

4. Validate registration: admin can validate and approve the registration request of tailors and riders sign up.
5. Deactivate: admin can deactivate the profile of customer, riders or tailor incase if term of services is violated.
6. Edit: admin can edit details of any user when requested.
7. Remove: if needed the tailor can remove any of the users.
8. Details: admin can check details of any of the users.
9. Statistics: admin can check the number of orders completed, total earnings, with all details like payment method used, amount, and date.
10. Logout: admin can logout of the system.
