In Pakistan medical lab test are performed manuallly and no history is maintained without any future prediction of diseases. This process is time consuming, expensive and tedious to visit doctor and maintain history for consulation with doctor. In  traditional system patient needs to come out of his home, pay travelling expenses and it might take too much time moving from one place to another place just for medical information and consultation. So, this problem would be solved by “lab diagnostic reporting system”. So we will develop an application in which we link lab with our application. By using the proposed system patient can stay in his home, pay no amount on travelling. The user can easily search different tests and reserve the lab according to their need.

Some of patients are aged and disable and some patients cannot visit labs for tests. The government is finding it   difficult to have  enough medical experts to get a good ratio among medical experts and patients. The main weaknesses  of the current systems are in terms of hassle and time wasted by the  patient. According to the current system, the patients spend almost a day at the hospital. There will be more hassle when it comes to referring a patient to a different doctor.

Project Objectives

It is diagnostic lab manager application that brings up various diagnosis working. Here patient get an option to register on the application and login using registered details. Once registered with their address and contact details, the patients may now see a variety of tests conducted by the lab along with their costs. The system allows patients to do the bookings available tests. The system allows users to book any test needed and after successful booking, system calculates costs and allows users to pay by credit card or cash. As soon as the payment is done, the patient test is booked and the lab may now collect samples from patient's registered address. After successful testing, the patient or the user gets a notification of test result through an email. The system allows admin to attach a copy of the report into the system and automatically email it to intended patient.

Project Implementation Method

The proposed software product is the lab diagnostic reporting system.The current system depends on the patient who want to book any type of diagnostic tests. The existing system is cumbersome and time consuming, because any patient who want to book the test has to go to the required lab and get information about it and may be that lab is not free at that require time slot and may not fulfill patient requirements with patients budget. It is to slow and cannot provide all information about lab, system functionality to keep up to date the labs, admin and user details. These things will be managed by admin receptionist dynamically and users can submit their requirements of laboratory and it directly displayed to the particular laboratory administrator. When administrator logs in to the application, the user can display the user details and requirements and user can see the information of booking for particular administrator online. After submitting the requirements of user, admin can receive message that he has received inquiry of user and details of user as well as user get the message that he/she want to booking confirmation. We will add the payment gateway for payment to the laborator. Hence the user can directly do the payment or by cash.

Patients:

• Registration: The patients or clients who are using the proposed application first have to register themselve on the application by providing basic details, medical requirement and contact details. They can set their unique name and password.
• Login: The users (patients or clients) access the system or system features by loging into the application using username and password.
• View Interface: On main or home page of the proposed application, patients can see lab for the test. The system locates the lab and their working hours as well the time slots available to them.
• Book Test or Reserving: The patient can book certain needed test. After successful booking the system calculates the estimated cost.

Admin (Lab Attendant):

• Lab Receive: The person’s tests are conducted in lab or any unit mentioned by lab and collected from them later on.
• Tests Results: After the test is conducted and samples are examined the patient gets reports of results of their test with the help of notification. The users can immediately view their reports and can collect hard copy of reports from diagnostic center later.

Benefits of the Project

The proposed system is an “ Diagnostic Lab Reporting System”. Its main aim is to bring together various diagnostic working, researches on one single platform that is also online (so that it is accessible for everyone). This application helps mostly the patients who cannot come at lab to give their sample of their blood. Some of patients who are admitted in hospitals also cannot go to specific lab which doctor will refer.

The main purpose of our application   interacts between lab and users. Our application allows to patient to do booking for different types of CBC test.

• Allows increased sales and profits for diagnostic labs.
• Easy, user friendly GUI.

This application can help people to interact directly with the laboratory community and all features of this application are useful for people as well as laboratory.  From this application you can see your lab location and book your test to save your time and patient’s traveling problem. Some of patients are aged and some of patients cannot easily visit lab for test. This app is very helpful for those.
