development of IoT based quadcopter for healthcare
Project Area of Specialization Internet of ThingsProject SummaryTens of people die every day due to the time lag taken by the ambulances to reach the accident spot. This time lag is due to heavy traffics and road blocks. Therefore providing first aid and emergency healthcare through Arial support is a better option.
Project ObjectivesTo develop control system of an unmanned Arial vehicle that has the tendency to reach the accident spot in minimum possible time to provide healthcare services. The drone will be equipped with modern biomedical sensors (including pulse oximeter and temperature sensor) that will collect patient data and send it to hospital audience using Internet of things protocols (GSM). Furthermore the drone will also provide first aid to the accident victims.
Project Implementation MethodLiterature review, hardware development and PID control system, Biomedical instrumentation and IoT communication, compilation
Benefits of the ProjectProvides emergency healthcare to accident victims
Reduces fatality rate
Provides important data of victims to the doctors and paramedical staff before they arrive at the spot.
Technical Details of Final DeliverableThe final form of the project will have 2 technologies.
Firstly the drone (quad copter) and its control system. It will have a capability of flying in 6 DoF and effectively overcoming disturbance during the flight. The drone will be navigated by using RC system.
Secondly the biomedical sensors including temperature and pulse sensors that can sense important human data and send it to hospital and paramedic staff using internet of things (GSM) protocols.
