Project Area of Specialization Artificial IntelligenceProject SummaryOur project is making use of computer vision technique, using video and image processing to detect vehicles on roadside and detect over speeding vehicles. The data of overspeeding vehicle including its number plate snip is forwarded to database for future use. The project aims to extend the vehicle count and its history for intelligent traffic system in future. But due to time constraints we are implementing overspeeding detection for now. This data can be used by gov. authorities also for upcomming infrastructure projects.
Project ObjectivesTo create an AI based system which is capable of detecting overspeeding vehicles and to store information using image processing.
Project Implementation MethodWe have used a raspberry pi 4 mobel b 4GB, for doing image and video processing and to interface camera, NRF24L01 transciever for transmitting and recieving images/data of overspeeding vehicles.
The camera will be at suitable position on road side, it will be connected with raspberry pi to apply video processing, the data collected by using the python code is transmitted over NRF24L01 transciever to be stored in database which is done by same type of NRF24L01 reciever.

- We can see this project to become intelligent traffic system in future which will avoid traffic congestion, accidents, law enforcement and hustle.
We will use a raspberry pi 4 model B 4GB, to do video processing and collect the speed data and then transmit it by using NRF24L01 transciever to reciever at which this data can be used for storing and future usage. For video processing task we have used python language for applying video processing algorithms.
