Worldwide research is going on to design and build more efficient plants and fair amount of budget is spent in this context. The proposedproject is one part of an interdisciplinary project. One part deals with design and fabrication of a zero head turbine (Kaplan turbine) by Mechanical Engineering studentsand another part to design and fabricate a low RPM generator by Electrical Engineering student. Our project is to design and fabricate 300W low rpm single phase generator for zero head turbine. This generator will be mounted on the turbine for its performance evaluation and ultimately completion of the project.
