Designing E Parking Challan System using Computer Vision
The objective of this research work is to build a system that will help the police and the driver process the challan using E challan more effectively.
E-challan is an electronic Vehicle number plate Tracker system that enables the ticketing of illegally parked vehicles through computer vision in real-time. The system is a drop-in replacement for existing roadside parking meters. It consists of a small power front-end device with a camera mounted on and a back-end database that handles the personal database management. Wireless network connectivity allows the device to accept electronic payment, execute parking laws, and ticket parking violators by taking a photo of the car license plate. The image is sent to the central server where the license plate number is retrieved automatically from the image using the Automated License Plate Recognition algorithm. This is done to ensure that any images captured by the camera contain a view of the vehicle license plate.
The system is based on computer vision which is being used in capturing the image of license with the real-time tracking and based on that tracked image this system than classify the verification method on different databases and after the verification, it generates challan another functionality of this system is that if the car is stolen the device will automatically fetch the data from the central server of if the car is stolen or not and based on that the system takes a decision.
The core objective of this project was to build a fully complete e - challan base system which will empower policeman as well as the driver. As the system it-self classifies the decision from the databases. The system generates an e - challan in a very short period and sends the e - challan to the driver’s location itself.
The project implementation is divided into two different sections.
The software side is based on computer vision that can scan the license plate of the vehicles and detect the details of owner for license plate capturing we have use an computer vision algorithms to recognize the license plate in real time and based on that the system takes decision from the databases of registered vehicles. Furthermore, this system has another database which is to check if the vehicle is stolen or not, and based on that the system eventually sends the e - challan to the owner cell number or email address through GPS and send live location. .
The usage of Hardware in this sytem such that it performs its function effieciently Raspberry Pi connected LCD and scanning license plate will be carried out with the help of pi camera.
The benefits of E-challan are way too many, it reduces the complexity of generating challan manually along with this the system itself classifies the details from the database. This system is cost-effective and reduces the level of uncertainty. The system is a hybrid base system that verifies the data with good accuracy. This system also clarifies if the vehicle is registered or not-registered in real-time with the details of the vehicle is being stolen or not.
This system will be used nearly in the future and the market size is big. As the number of vehicles is getting increase day by day so it will be the best opportunity to take this project to the product level with future applications
