In this paper work a convertible wheelchair is designed and manufactured for the spinal cord injured people. The main concern of patients with severe medical injuries is comfort while sitting on the chair but continuous sitting creates more problem like heart rate, respiration problems bladder issues that’s why they need another person to keep them transferring to bed and wheelchair for different events. Our proposed design of wheelchair chair comprise a bed position and standing position on same structure so that they can relax changing their postures. The attached seat is comfortable to sit on and back seat is stretched up to head to provide holding structure for head as well when bed position is attained. For mobility of wheelchair two DC motor attached one on each side wheel is powered through rechargeable DC battery. Making things easily controllable and understandable for old aged patients, push button controls for convertibility of postures and maneuverability of wheelchair is attained through Arduino UNO microprocessor controller and BTS 7960 Motor driver modules.

Initially the calculations were taken regarding the forces that will be acting

During fabrication the linear actuators were installed for posture changing and motors were installed for movemen
Posture changing was achieved through control system
Then damper was implemented into rear wheels for reducing jerks
Motors were re aligned
Control system for posture changing was also enhances to reduce time for posture changing
The chair will be very useful for physically handicapped individuals who require mobility in their everyday lives
Lives of physically disabled people will be improved
Users of this chair will not only just stay in one position but will also be able to stand or change to the bed position
Mobility will be enhanced according to the user's choice
