Design and fabrication of jet o mizer
Jet o mizer is a type of fluid energy mill used for micro grinding purpose. It is used in pharmaceutical industries and food industries and also in ammunition industries for grinding purpose. It uses high velocity stream to grind the desired material in microns. Size produced by this equipment cannot be produced by any other grinding mechanism. It has different models. We are designing lab scale jet o mizer which will be able to grind upto 10 microns. It is made up of stain less steel. High pressure is used from compressor which with the help of nozzles produce high velocity in the grinding chamber. Due to the collion of raw material particles from feed hopper collode with each other and with the wall of chamber which cause micronisation of particles.
We are designing a jet o mizer which will be able to grind wet raw material. For this purpose we will use pre heater and air filter as our inovation in typical jet o mizer.

Compressor is used to compress the air to desired pressure wilhich will lead to the grinding chamber
This equipment consist of loop like chamber made of stainless steel in which grinding mechanism take place
In the bottom end of chamber nozzles are attached which are responsible for high velovity stream which causes turbulence in grinding chamber
Feed hopper is attaced at the side of loop grom where raw material will enter the grinding chamber and a nozzle is attached before hopper which will puch the raw material in grinding chamber.
This will cause the collison of raw material with wall of chamber and particles which one another which will cause breakdown of particles in micro level.
At the upper centre of grinding chamber there will be opening from where micro particles will leave due to the centrifugal force. A micro size mesh will be attached at the opening from where only desired size particles will leave and larger particle will continue moving inside the chamber until they reach desired size.
