Project Summary

Our project is to make a commercially available digital clinical thermometer in pakistani market that would be effecient, fast and portable. Our thermometer will match the accurarcy of already available thermometers in market. Thermistor
is used as temperature sensor due to its accuracy and low cost.
ADC converter, microcontroller and LCD display are the main
components of our digital thermometer.

Project Objectives

  • To make a commercially available digital clinical thermometer.
  • To make a comparative analysis of our thermometer with already availabvle thermometers in market

Project Implementation Method

We will make a commercially available digital clinical thermometer that can be sold in pakistani market in near future. A proper design of PCB circuit and body will be made with waterproof fabrication. Thermistor will be used for detecting temperature of body, analogue data will be converted in digital form and results will be shown on LED screen.

Benefits of the Project

Our thermometer will available in Pakistani market, it will be precise and accurate as the other already thermometers are. Production will be started in pakistan so it will create job opportunities and will reduce the import of digital thermometers.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

NTC Bead type thermistor will be used as temperature sensor. Analogue to Digital Converter ADC 0804 will be used to convert analogue data of thermistor in digital data. Microcontroller IC 89C51 will be used to interpret digital information and transfer it on to an OLED.Colored OLED is used insted of LCD because OLED consumes low power so battery life can be extended and make it more efficient. PCB board will be used to make our thermometer as compact as possible for easy handling. Waterproof fabrication will be used to extend life of our digital clinical thermometer.
