We implemented an android application that will bridge the gap between normal human and deaf person on live phone call. We wanted to develop something that will be fruitful for society, inoder to achive our goal we searched different disable's school around karachi and we dicover that their is no such platform which can help deaf person to communicate through phone call.

Project Objectives

Deafness is a barrier to communication of hearing-impaired people and normal human due to which sign language is used, more than 5 percent of entire world population that’s 360 million people are deaf. If deaf person wants to communicate through a phone call, Deaf’s solution is an application that will integrate hearing impaired community around the world into the mainstream of society by providing a platform which will bridge the gap between deaf and non deaf person. The basic idea is to develop an application that can provide communication in real time on phone.

Project Implementation Method

In this reigon most of people use android phone due to its affordability that is why we chosedandroid platform which is more common and number of people can afford it. We record call in chunks and send it to server which converts it into desired medium. We use STT(speech to text) and TTS(text to speech) of aws .To make call and send messages we are using sinch api.

Benefits of the Project

This application can become revolutionary for deaf person because they can communicate through phone call and person next to him(normal person) can not feel any hurdle during phone call, for him its just simple or normal phone call and they do not need to learn sign language to communicate with their peers.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

We have taken speech from normal person's phone by recording it in chunks and sending that chunks to server(aws) which will provide transcription of audio then this transcrition is send to deaf person's phone and when deaf person reply by text than this text is send to aws where we use text to speech after than this speech send towards normal person phone.
