DC-DC TRAINING KIT
Our Fyp is about creating a DC power electronics trainer , we have seen trainers that are made for specific parts of the wide field of power electronics most of these trainers are focused on testing mosfets ,resistors and inductors. Our trainer is focused more on DC converter circuits. Our aim is to train the user on the basics and in depth analysis of DC converters. We have some major circuits in the form of modules in our trainer. Namely they are: Buck converter, Boost Converter, Buck-Boost Converter, Motor Driver/ Speed Control circuit, CCCV charging circuit and lastly MPPT (This circuit will be running on the background to provide efficency between solar and battery.
Our project will provide a platform/device for renewable energy companies and university students. It would facilitate practice for students and the companies would be able to test their products. Our product would be a local solution as most of the trainers being used are imported. Cheaper as the resources will be locally sought and no import fees. Portable so components can be easily changed
The features of our project are:
1) Flyback Converter
2) Buck Converter
3) Boost Converter
4) Buck-Boost Converter
5) High Speed Power Switching
6) Switching Analysis
7) Solar and Battery Testing
8) Isolated and also Portable (Consists of port type connections).
DC-DC trainers are a necessity for universities and educational institutions, as they give hands on practical experience when building circuits or experimenting with different components. Most trainers we have observed in our labs are imported from European companies e.g FESTO(Germany). High import and manufacturing costs bring the price of a trainer upto 10+Lakh PKR. We aim to provide a locally sourced trainer which would be significantly cheaper as china provides Pakistan with cheap components. Manufacturing/Labor cost in Pakistan would also be low. Such trainers can even be utilized by companies teaching different power electronic circuits.
Knowledge domain involved in ourproject are:
1) Power Electronics and Renewable Energy
2) MATLAB and other simulation software Concepts
3) Coding softwares
4) Circuit Mapping softwares
5) Control System
