Controlled Drug Delivery Using Nanotechnology for Parkinson Syndrome
In this modern era, everyone is dependant on technologies and technological revolution. We are treating Parkinson's patients medication with new technology. Parkinson’s patient is dependent on the drug throughout the day. When the drug is taken by the parkinson’s patient it isimmediately released after metabolic reactions and absorbed in patient’s intestine. After this immediate absorption of drug , patient’s state go backs to the unhealthy condition. This cause the patient to take medicine probably 8-10 times in 24-hour.Instead of this burst release of drug at the beginning we want a sustained release of loaded drug at a specific time.To overcome this problem we encapsulate the drug in a biocompatible, biodegradable polymer whose degradation time is more which helps in sustained release of drug for 24-hours. This will help the patient to take only one medicine in a day.The encapsulation of drug is performed by electrospinning machine.
The project work is divided into few phases, the first phase is the weighing and mixing of solution on magnetic stirrer, the second phase is to make nanofibers on electrospinning machine and the third phase is to extract the sheath and dry it and last phase requires the testing by SEM( scanning electron microscopy) and FTIR testing.
The aim is to treat the patient with the advanced method without affecting the patients health and increasing the time duration of drug release. The more drug can be encapsulated by the nanofibers because of more surface volume. Any polymer, medicine can be converted into nanofibers, more drug is loaded easily. This method is cheap and can easily be performed.
