Motivation: A computerized tomography (CT) scan combines a series of X-ray images taken from different angles around your body and uses computer processing to create cross-sectional images (slices) of the bones, blood vessels and soft tissues inside your body. A CT scan can be used to visualize nearly all parts of the body and is used to diagnose disease or injury as well as to plan medical, surgical or radiation treatment. Problem statement : A computed tomography (CT) scan use computer and rotating X-ray machine to create a cross sectional image of the body .These studies implemented various imaging protocols with both FBCT and CBCT and quantitatively analyzed different aspects of the images. Under clinical pelvis and head and neck protocols, numerous scan modes were implemented. The images were then assessed for various image quality parameters to determine which modalities produced the more desirable images.. In this study we compare the spiral /helical CT, cone beam CT, fan beam CT technologies regarding beam geometery , image acquisition , image detection , image reconstruction , radiation dose and their application in different field.
A CT scanner emits a series of narrow beams through the human body as it moves through an arc. This data is transmitted to a computer, which builds up a 3-D cross-sectional picture of the part of the body and displays it on the screen. A contrast dye is used because it can help show certain structures more clearly. We will perform for spiral CT , fan beam CT and cone beam CT then we will compare the results of these all techniques on the basis of their radition doses, data aquasition ,image reconstruction ,image quality.
After comparing the cone beam computed tomography, fan beam computed tomography and spiral computed tomography we will able to which technology has better image quality for the daignostic purpose of the patient . which technology is less harmful for the patient as regarding the dosage of radiations. which technology consume more time and which technology consumes less time for detection
we recognize that which is better for the daignosis on the basis of image quality regarding beam geometery, image acquisition , image detection , image reconstruction ,radiation doses.
