troubles, for example, they have to wait for indefinite time on bus stops. These daily commuters
do not have any information about the bus arrival, its driver, where it is coming from, where it is
going, the fare, and also about its accurate route. Our application will try to resolve this type of
problem.
In this project, the ultimate objective is to transform the existing public transport of the city into a
completely digital design and to make it more reliable and dependable for its users because there are
so many people who use public transport for going to their workplaces, educational institutes etc.
They face problems when it comes to the arrival of busses. Similarly, they have to memorize about
the busses and their routes and if a person is new in the city, he doesn’t have any clue about how to
reach his destination while using public transport. This project will be solving all such problems.
It is an application which will have three different interfaces. One for the users, second
one will be for the drivers and the third one will be for admin. The drivers will put all the
relevant data into their app which will be stored in the database. He will have to provide all the
information about his route, vehicle and some personal information too like NIC number and
License number etc. When the driver starts to hit the road, he will be then trackable by the users’
app and the users will have access to the whole data. We will provide two options to the users.
The first one will be the default one which will be specifically designed for either those who are
new to the city and do not have enough knowledge about the local transport. In this option, they
will have to enter their destination and just click a button and the nearby bus stop and the bus
will be tracked. The second option which will be for the users who need a specific vehicle, in
other words, they can find a vehicle by its name. Finally, if something unexpected happens, it
will be reported to the admin either by the user or the driver and the admin will take appropriate
action. Design or application mockups may be change during implementation. When you apply
security features than usability of interface may affected.
The project is actually based on a real world problem which is that commuters have to wait for
indefinite time for a local transportation vehicle to arrive. We are going to give the users a detailed
look of the vehicles coming towards them. The users will be even able to see the complete details of
the vehicle like where is it heading and on which route.
There will be three apps - two mobile apps each for a driver and a user, and one web app which will
belong to the admin who will have ultimate solutions to all problems or to whom either the users or
the drivers can report problems.
In this project, if a user or a passenger gives the pick up and drop location then as per the location
system, it will show the relevant busses with routes. If a passenger wants to track a bus with name
and location then the passenger will be able to do so as well. Also, a driver may add own vehicle
and define a route for the vehicle and then the driver may start a ride. Administration portal will be
used to register vehicle and vehicle routes. The portal will also have to handle passenger’s reports.
