The internet of things is an art of things and their communication, in this modern world everything is digitalized. Seriously disappointing is the fact that there are a large number of people with physical disabilities as a whole who need to have an experience that depends on the well-being and satisfaction of others. So, we focus on the problems of visually impaired people to move freely in the desired places save and easy way with the help of this project.

Project Objectives

The topmost objectives of this project will digitalizing the visually impaired person's stick with help of the Internet of Things to get move freely and safely to the markets, malls, etc. This project is purely based on AI (Artificial Intelligence) to improve quality and complete guidance to the person. AI shows object detection in real time process to guide obstacles in front of the person. In this covid situation, this stick is also alert to maintain a distance of 6 feet to the person. This project also allows getting the location of a stick person from anywhere through the GPS Location system to avoid any kind of troubledness.    

Project Implementation Method

our project depends on our study that we took from past research papers and develop a camera-assisted Blind stick object detection and voice guidance which will be friendly for visually impaired people to operate. The data about the object in the picture will be returned to the standard python programming library to organize and be passed on to the client using an amplifier/a couple of earphones. Article distinguishing proof through the pictures will be done using picture labeling at the endpoint dependent on the setting, content, and the activities distinguished in the picture. The computerized picture will be sent back to the regulator, where the Shrewd Cane application will send an approved web solicitation to a membership endpoint for recognizable proof.

Benefits of the Project

This Blind stick has a more beneficial aspect that is an application of IoT which improves the performance of visually impaired people that cannot move easily like normal people and they can do their tasks. This project will focus on the following tasks.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

The technical details of the project are as follows:

1. Project Base on Raspberry Pi 4 all components link with this.
2. The main component is the Pi camera that is attached to the Pi board.
3. Pi camera coding with python programming library that detects an object.
4. Voice guidance alerts through the speaker
5. Distance management through the ultrasonic sensor
6. LDR Dark sensor showing day/night indication.
7. GSM 800L Module showing live locations
