Automatic Control of AC and DC using PLC with backup system
Project Area of Specialization Electrical/Electronic EngineeringProject SummaryOur project is to automatically switching power sources (WAPDA, Solar) using PLC and to power up the load along with charging of battery and this battery will be used as a backup in case when no source is available. For switching sources, PLC Ladder diagram is used. AC or DC loads can be used at load side.
Project ObjectivesThe main aim of our project is to automatically switching power sources (WAPDA, Solar) using PLC and to power up the load along with charging of battery and this battery will be used as a backup in case when no source is available. For switching sources, PLC Ladder diagram is used. AC or DC loads can be used at load side.
Project Implementation Method- Ladder Diagram for programming of PLC according to our project.
- Sources (Wapda and Solar Panel) are being switched by using PLC.
- To get the 24V DC for input of PLC, Boost Converter is being used after the Solar Panel.
- Charging system for battery charging from PLC output is designed.
As our project is using PLC and switching of sources using PLC is not being done in industry. This project will provide benefit in order to cater the problem of voltage regulation at load side and makes industry work smoothly as there is also a back-up system if all sources are off. This project provides efficient and fast way for switching and operating.
Technical Details of Final DeliverablePLC is main component in this project to control the sources and to make the sources give constant and stable input to PLC converters are used and at load side there is charging circuit and for that if output voltages greater than battery voltage level then it will charge.
At the end we will be having a stable system of switching between sources alongwith a battery backup system.
