Anti Collision Train System
Project Area of Specialization Computer ScienceProject SummaryPakistan has seen about 15 major railways accidents in the second half of this decade. Our work is concentrated on predicting the major cause of, and thereby avoiding railway accidents occurring on a single railway line. For this purpose, the primary goal of our anti-collision system is to identify such collision points and to preemptively notify these error cases to the main control room. So that if any collision is likely to occur then our system will help avoid such conditions by giving a signal or a notification to concerned units. The system is not said to be 100% effective but it will act as a fall safe system.
Project Objectives- Monitor train positions in close vicinity.
- Communicating railway line status to oncoming trains on likely collision points.
- Run end-to-end simulation for an anti-collision system.
The Project has two integral parts. One the ACD and an Application. The ACD will be consisting of wifi hotspot modules that would be placed on the railway line some distance apart. A safe distance between trains will be declared. If two trains fail to maintain that distance, an alarm or signal would be sent straight to the concerned persons through the application.
Now the Application will have two dashboards. One for the Employees and the other for Clients. The Clients will have the facility track their respective trains or view its schedule etc. and will be able to give feedback. The employee will have a login first that would lead them to their dashboard where they will be monitoring the trains and receive signals or alarms.
Benefits of the ProjectThis project will help in improving communications between the trains and their control centers, it would keep a track of their schedules, and will simulate the complete scenario in real-time.
It would help in reducing the economic loss that we have to face in case of collision.
It would also help in reducing the risk of human life.
Technical Details of Final DeliverableThe end product would be a real-time simulation of railway scenarios that will result in no-collision. The signals received from the hotspot modules would be sent through the app to the railway authorities or to the control center.
