The electronic voting system is emerging as a significant alternative to the conventional system in the delivery of reliable and trusted elections. In this project, a framework for an electronic voting system based on fingerprint as a biometric is proposed and implemented with the objective of eliminating bogus voting, vote repetition, and false results. Fingerprint, keyboard, microcontroller, wifi module, LCD, and SD card will be used in the designing of a secure voting system. Thumb impressions will be the given input to the microcontroller which will give output to the LCD. LCD will show us the registration of that person either he/she is registered or not. After confirmation, the LCD will send input again to the microcontroller after this input will be given from the keyboard to the microcontroller to select their candidates and then the microcontroller will give outputs to the LCD. This all process will be saved in the SD card and the results are transmitted through a wifi module. The results will be available online.

Our objective is to develop a secure e-voting system that will have the following attributes

Project Implementation Method

The developed system is implemented in four stages that are enrolment, identification, verification, and voting. At the time of capture of the fingerprint, the enrolment stage is applied to it and the output of the first stage is applied as an input to the next stages. Finally, the results will be shown online via the web. 

Benefits of the Project

The main benefits of this project is to help to secure the conventional election system and provide live results via web-based application.
