Project Area of Specialization Internet of ThingsProject SummaryQuad copter is an electronic device usually having four motors with four propellers (to lift the quad copter in air). Quad copters are being used for multiple purposes like surveillance activities, monitoring etc .The mission of our project is to utilize through an android controlled quad copter for agriculture purpose. Different functionalities of the quad copter will be controlled by several electronic components like Raspberry Pi 3, GSM module etc. An Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) is an air-craft without a human pilot aboard. Its flight is controlled either autonomously by on board computers or by the remote control of a pilot on the ground.In the last few decades, small-scale unmanned aerial vehicles have been used for many applications. The need for aircraft with greater maneuverability and hovering ability has led to a rise in quad copter research. The four-rotor design allows quad copters to be relatively simple in design yet highly reliable and maneuverable. Research is continuing to increase the abilities of quad copters by making advances in multi-craft communication, environment exploration, and maneuverability. If these developing qualities can be combined, quad copters would be capable of advanced autonomous missions that are currently not possible with other vehicles.
Project Objectives- Development of Android controlled Quad copter for agriculture purpose.
- Development of test bed to test our quad copter.
- Development of android application to control the quad copter.
- Utilization of GPS system to guide quad copter about destination and assign the coordinates.
- Utilization of raspberry pi and flight controller to control propellers and to maintain the balance of quad copter during flight.
- Assembling of different components like quad copter base, raspberry pi, propellers, camera, flight controller and battery etc.
How to achieve each objective or what need to be done to deliver desired objectives. We can also add the work that should not be done.As far as companies are concerned it would be much beneficial for them as well as the need of manpower will be minimized to much extent. Moreover the cost of fuel will also cut off. Hence this project will aid and offer fruitful things in terms of services. Till now there is no such method of Quad Copter in Pakistan that can be used in agriculture purpose. Through the quad copter all these benefits can be achieved. We can use the quad copter in fields for image processing and sense the temperature with sufficient manner.Affordable prices ,Low cost per flight.High image detail flying over field taking extremely detailed photos of crops.
First deliverable is Android application. This application is much similar to web based application as through android application user can place order as well as will upload his/her recent picture that will later use for verification. There will be another android application to control the quad copter.
Final deliverable will be quad copter, which will moniter the fields for agriculture purpose at the given location.
