AI Based Surveillance System is a project aimed at smartening the already present system of Surveillance using Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. The first and foremost goal of our project is to make the dvr system smart by utilizing its resources efficiently and consuming the limited space for only interesting videos and frames not garbage. We will be optimizing storage through object detection, change detection which will help in saving tons of memory which is wasted due to this thing as well as time wastage which is done after for searching in those lengthy videos saved by dvr. 
A next iteration to this project is to raise alarms based on suspicious activities and detections.

Project Implementation Method

We have tried different approaches to making dvr systems smart. Running Yolo and Open cv continuously and doing frame by frame detections through that proved to be too costly even for the GPU Integrated systems and hence we turned towards another Approach of using Frame subtraction and connected components on the saved videos rather than on Real time streams because of performance Issues.

We Wanted to this all this using Advanced dvr systems, Ip cameras and TinkerBoards so that we have the idea of how much costly our algorithms would be and if the system would be able to handle that type of working.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

The final Aim of this Project is to optimize Surveillance System for which we will be using tinkerboards, Dvr systems and Ip Cameras and integrating our algorithms within that to perform thorough inspections. The final deliverable should be able to optimize the already present storage systems and enhance alert systems for suspicious activities.
