Project Title

Wirless Power Transfer system Using Inductive Coupling

Project Area of Specialization Electrical/Electronic EngineeringProject Summary

Mostly power transfer is using wire. But  there is a lot of losses occur during wire transmission and wires are heat up wile transmit power for long distance. Wireless power systema play and important rule in every field of life also become a highly active research area. Wireless power transfer through inductive coupling based on the concept of Tesla, the circuit was designed using two parallel inductors that are mutually coupled. The designed was split into two which are transmitter part and receiver part. The circuit was simulated using proteus simulation software. The wireless power transfer can be described as the transmission of electrical energy from the power source to the electrical load without any current-carrying wire connecting them. The wireless power transmission will be necessary to use in the near future because this technology enables  the transmission of electrical energy from a power source to an electrical load across  an air gap without interconnecting wires. Wireless power transmission, is a new  technology as well as its future trends

Project Objectives

Wireless Power Transfer System using Inductive Coupling is to design the system that transfer electricity without copper wire . The power is transfer to small range  such as charging battery and all DC Device .For demonstration purposes we have used a fan instead of battery that operates by using wireless power. This requires an electronic circuit for conversion of AC 230V 50Hz to AC 12V, high frequency and this is then fed to a primary coil of an air core transformer. The energy can be transmitted from the transmitter to a receiver through an oscillating magnetic field.” It works by the principal of Electromagnetic Mutual Induction. It have no any physical connection between the coil but the power is transfer from one medium to other medium

Project Implementation Method

The method we adopt for wireless transfer is  Inductive coupling.

Primary and secondary coils are not  connected with wires.

Energy transfer is due to Mutual  Induction.

Explanation:[3]

Transformer:

When we input the 230v AC with 50 hz frequency so the transformer step down the voltage in to 12v AC with high efficient frequency . This is main function of transformer to step down voltage .

Bridge Rectification Circuit:

The four diode which is connected in bridge form .The function of this bridge to convert the AC to DC with high frequency.  It is located near the Ac supply area. It can come in the 4 separate diodes arrangement  The capacitor is connected parallel to bridge so Energy will be shifting back and forth  between magnetic field surrounding  the coil and electric field around the  capacitor.

Regulator:

It is most important component to use in inductive coupling circuit because The purpose of a voltage regulator is to keep the voltage in a circuit relatively close to a desired value.so the when the quantity of current reduces it regulate and make. the quantity of power .  power supply frequently produces raw current that would otherwise damage one of the components in the circuit.

Benefits of the Project

There recent technological applications that make the human life more beneficial in the present world have been discussed. Three new standard of wireless power technology that is already in competition with each other is also one of the talks of the topic in near future when other more standards are coming soon. Among these three wirelesses charging standards, which are going to be win in the race that will be defined by their recent great applications.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

The wireless power transmission can be defined as, “The energy can be transmitted from the transmitter to a receiver through an oscillating magnetic field.” ? It works by the principal of Electromagnetic Mutual Induction. ? It have no any physical connection between the coil but the power is transfer from one medium to other medium.
