Project Summary

The robotic arms are prototypes look similar to human arms and controlled by computer programming. They consist of links and joints which are controlled by actuators like servo motors. Robotic arms are controlled by several techniques like EMG but simplest technique is robotic arm is controlled by human voice (commands) which is more simple and more efficient method then EMG.

The most important and first term in voice control is speech recognition i.e. making the robotic arm to understand human voice. Speech recognition is the process of conversion of human voice in to useful text commands. Simply the speech recognition is the process in which system recognize human voice. Recognition is the capability of connecting hardware and software is this way that they can interpret human voice for robotic arm. Speech Recognition contains two important steps

· Recognize voice commands except voice

· Identify those voice commands   

 The speech recognition depends on parameters like mode of speaking, language and speaking styles. Voice controlled robotic arms interprets human voice and convert it in to human arm movements accurately

Project Objectives

our project presents a system whereby the human voice used to operate a real 3D robotic arm. We make efficient prosthetic hand which work like a real human hand. Individuals with motor impairments such as those with paraplegia, amputations e.t.c carry out their activities with voice command. Previous techniques based on EMG though efficient for some cases but unsatisfactory and need effort to carry out their activities therefore voice is simplest tool for this purpose because individual has to move his hand by simple voice commands. It is easy to work with voice module and cost effective.

Project Implementation Method

  1. Medical systems
      1. controlling prosthetic robot arm effectively.sss
      2. controlling position of medical patient beds for bedridden patients who cannot use his hands.
      3. using power based wheel chairs with the voice commands for patients of paralyzed from the neck down.
      4. utilizing for meeting the requirements of bedridden patients who cannot use his hands with the help of robot arm which can be attached to the bed, for instance when a bedridden patient tells the command “bring me water” to the robot arm, the robot arm can make the bedridden patient drink the water which is on the table.
  2. Industries
  1. working non-arm patients in service sector such as patient who has no arm can observe the system which should be monitored and if necessary he/she can stop the system with the “stop the system” command.
