Li-Fi is the most ideal solution for effective data transmission due to its basic building block : Light. Inexhaustible, accurate, fast, safe and cost effective, Li-Fi could potentially be the successor of Wi-Fi upon further development. Its working centers around the principle of varying the electrical signal based on the required output. Its applications range widely from military to communication and can also use in dangerous environments or in sensitive regions.
(Light Emiting Diode)LED lighting is steadily ?nding its way into the market of arti?cial illumination. An additional characteristic of LED lighting is the ability to accommodate switching times that are high enough to transmit data via the visible light it emits. We will try and analyze multiple techniques for providing a data transmission with less ?icker and dimming in VLC (visible light communication) and on the receiver side we will try to increase the data rate in accordance to our transmitter, decrease the bit error ratio (BER) and to get more bandwidth.
In this lifi related project we have the receiver which is an essential part of visible light communication as the receiver is an integral part which plays a significant role in data VLC. The receiver basically functions as a device which receives light related data and transmits it to the arduino or raspberry pi to further process the bits. As the project states the most technical aspect of this project is to make the receiver more efficient by this receiver currently has a low rate of reliability and efficiency as it is not properly reading the bits and it has further detoriation of other aspects in the project like dimming flickering signal power. So in this project our main objective is to make the receiver more efficient which will read the bits properly without affecting the other parameters.
This current project is a new and sustainable type of implementation of what we are trying to achieve as it is totally new and nascent technology the benefits of it are far reaching and reliable by LiFi technology is dependent upon light and the greatest advantage we have when using the visible light spectrum is of the huge bandwidth we get and the greater the spectrum the greater the number of devices and broad range of options we have to further induce in it.
The other outstanding benefit in using LiFi is that the speed in data transmission is very high and in the ranges of Gbps which can make connection times with ultra low latency and super fast data transmit speeds.
With regards to efficiency LiFi is much more power efficient as it utilizes simple LED bulbs which have a very low power requirement and does not require complex circuits to transmit data
With regards to health issue LiFi is safe as light does not pass through the human body as all opaque objects will block light from penetrating through it thus reducing the risk of health related issues with regard to radio waves present in the electronic spectrum
Also Security is of great importance with LiFi by the light waves will travel to only places you want them to strike at thus minimizing the rate of intrusions hacking by in WiFi technology you can’t control the area at with radio waves strike in small specified area but with LiFi the light waves can be pointed at areas only where you want them to strike at.
Our Final Deliverable will include a room where LiFi will be implemented with maximizing in eliminating the bottlenecks of flickering dimming and data rate and multiple Led lights will be connected to a central server where processing of IP addresses will take place as each Light transmitter will be designated with a different IP address also different receivers in the room will receive the signal and further process data as a demonstration of LiFi will take place.
