The concept of the virtual tour comes under larger umbrella of virtual space and cyberspace that enables people to experience and explore a place which does not exist in reality as a physical space via Internet. For example, instead of physically going to Paris, user can stay at home and virtually explore it from their computer. Not everyone can visit each and every college campus before making college decision - time, distance, working commitments or finances might get in the way. In recent years, many universities and colleges have become adroit at offering virtual visits. The significance of using this technique is to get the panoramic view of the campus area which will enhance the journey on the Internet. We also show the implementation of embedding pop-ups with prominent locations in virtual tour to make it more persuasive for new users. The main aim of this research is to mimic real world by computer generated environment and engage all the senses of people using very powerful and compelling technology that is Virtual Reality. From this project we hope to enhance the popularity of our university infrastructure and facilities provided in our university. We have developed a virtual tour of our university as a prototype that has been evaluated for its accuracy, speed and quality. We are motivated to extend this project to from virtual tour to virtual reality experience.
Project ObjectivesThe main aim of this project is to provide facility to explore MNSUAM online from any location of the world using virtual reality environment.
The scope of our project is to resolve the problem of mostly visitors who cannot bear travelling and accommodation expenses or for some reason cannot visit the campus. Virtual tour resolves it and also save time and money.

Project Implementation MethodVirtual tour of MNSUAM is a 3D graphical representation of the institute like as real. Anyone can explore the institute and visit by sitting at home or anywhere on internet online and he will feel that he is visiting institute in reality. It will be helpful for everyone as it will save time and money by saving transport or accommodation expenses, and tour guide cost. We will use AutoCAD, Unity 3D, 3D Max for virtual tour and hololens for testing our virtual reality system.
Benefits of the ProjectWeb-based Virtual Tour of campus generated a real time virtual tour and also provided a realistic ‘walkaround’ in the campus. Virtual campus tour was useful for students to go through the campus before coming to the university. The study can be extended to real estate industry, museums and touristic visits and many other areas where visits can be made before going there.
Technical Details of Final DeliverableWe gathered the data initially and conducted some questioners about how to kick start the project. After some discussion & tutorials we had some ideas about how to develop the system. We have developed an initial prototype of our virtual tour using tools AutoCAD, Unity 3D, and 3D Max. In future, we are going to extend this tour to virtual reality experience using hololens. The final deliverable may be embedded on the university website and in the app where an environment of the university campus premises will be displayed to user where a character is also provided. User can move that character to explore the campus virtually similarly to a virtual game.
