Our application is inspired by the Metaverse concept. We are going to add VR There are two target audiences we are dealing with one having VR headsets and the others that don't have VR headsets. Our end goal will be to develop an E-commerce website that will allow users to visit a virtual store while wearing a VR headset and visit the website. We will commercialize our application. The metrics formulas and application KPIs that will help us to measure the impact of the hard work we put in to develop our audience are Customer Retention Rate, Revenue growth, Profit margin, Customer satisfaction, and Average order value.

Project Objectives

1. Save customers' time and travel costs by allowing them to shop from the comfort of their own homes

2. Allow customers to have a virtual reality experience

3. Satisfying the customers by allowing them to try on the garments through their avatars

4. Giving the customers a virtual tour of the shop where they can explore the market without having a VR Headset.

5. Earn profit by commercializing the application. 

6.After commercializing our web application we can use it for different purposes like advertisement of different brands on our web application, adding more products and features in our web application.

Project Implementation Method

In our web application, we will use the MERN stack in which we will use HTML, CSS, bootstrap, ReactJs, NodeJs, MongoDB, and Express for the website frontend and backend, and for the virtual tour in metaverse we have two options that are three.js that is the library of javascript and can be used for creating 3-D animations environment and the other option is the unity that is most commonly used for creating a virtual environment. We have different modules like making a website and then adding a virtual tour of the store having outerwear and the virtual reality-based store that can be experienced with the help of a VR Headset. So after making the individual components we just have to integrate all the components into a single working project. We will basically use unity for making a virtual environment store and three.js for making a virtual tour of our store and then after making these two modules we will integrate these into our website that is made in MERN.

Benefits of the Project

Since the pandemic time, digitalization of everything is trending and so is online shopping. People now prefer online shopping for everything rather than going physically to the shop to save time, travel costs,s, etc. But, In the case of buying clothes online people are somewhat hesitant as they don't get to see how the cloth looks actually, does it really fit? Is the size okay? Etc. To overcome this problem our Project will provide more access to the user as they can actually check the outerwear items on their avatars virtually on the website or in the VR mode. In this way, it would grab more attention of people into opting for online shopping specifically for outerwear in our project. Secondly, this would allow other companies to start investing in this metaverse concept and incorporate Virtual reality options in the E-commerce platforms. As we know Virtual reality offers unique, engaging, and fun ways to train in a safe, but realistic environment. It allows viewers to see directly through the 'eyes' of a real or imagined subject and more specifically, VR can create 'embodied cognition'.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

The web application is basically for two types of customers one having VR headsets and the others that don't have VR headsets. The ones having VR headsets can visit the virtual store having different outwears and the user can try the different outerwear and the others having don't have the VR Headset can avail the virtual tour of the store and can explore the outwears. When the customer will click on some jackets then automatically he/she will be redirected to the payment add to card page.
