Vehicle Tracking System
Now a days almost every person has a vehicle and wants to protect its vehicle by having efficient and effective system . Because in this advance time there also risk that a vehicle can be stolen through different ways. To prevent the car from being stolen and to maintain a safe distance between two vehicles many security system needs to be developed and for this the system have a device that switches the engine ON/OFF and Auto Brakes Notification feature which enables the notification where the brakes are needed to be applied. These days technology is growing at fast rate and there are lot of ways in which a vehicle can be tracked and prevented from being stolen. Our system is internet based system that contains different components that enables to work and make useful results for the users and with the WIFI module we can done communication between the web interface and the hardware device which is set on vehicle. .
These days many systems are being developed that are used to lock/unlock the vehicles and remote control devices. And in this system the engine is being turned ON/OFF with the help of remote location and the location of vehicle is identified by web based tracking system and also notify us about where brakes are essential to use according to distance between two vehicles.
In proposed system we develop a web interface with a smart and working hardware for the vehicle. It is GPS based system that can be used to track a vehicle if it is stolen or the user lost it’s path. This system contains a hardware setup and also a software interface that can be easily used by signing up including name , phone number , email and details about vehicle. And the user will receive the latitude and longitude values of the current location of vehicle though SMS and this SMS contains the longitude and latitude points in the form of link of vehicle on the map and this is more secured and reliable way. And when the user will access the link then it can be easy to track a vehicle by using this system The pointer will indicate the location on the map. This is more secure and reliable. Hardware contains WIFI module, GSM , GPS , Arduino ,Relay device, wires and a distance measuring sensor. A slight movement of vehicle can be detected by this system and if someone is illegally try to unblock your vehicle then it also gives notification about that. This system can be very helpful in modern technologies. This system reduce the crime rate that is related to vehicles and also reduces the ratio of accidents by using distance measuring sensor. This system also helps to track the vehicle while it is OFF and for this we use external power for GPS.
The system specifications that are used in this system are microcontroller, jumper wires, WIFI module, batteries , relay device and distance measuring sensor.
In this system we are able to track the exact location of vehicle and also turn ON/OFF the engine. And in this system we are able to block the engine if the vehicle is taken and then we are able to recover it because it turns off the engine by remote location.

to provide the help captured the theft quickly and kee.
to alert the user to drive the vehicle safe to avoid accidents.
WATER FALL METHOD:
Waterfall(implementation method) is selected by us for the development of this project and in this framework of software development, development proceeds in a sequence through a series of phases. The phases are: system requirement analysis, product release and maintenance. So the progress can be conclusively identified through the use of milestones.
the reason behind selceting this model is that this model works as a series or in a phases. so we need to complete our project in phases and if any problem arise we can solve it at a time.
The waterfall model is a sequential, design process used in software process in which progress is seen as a flowing steadily downwards through different phases.
We all know that this is a very big crime in our country and it creates another problem also. We are developing this system because we want to keep the vehicle safe and misuse of the vehicle. So main outcomes of our system is that we keep the vehicle through a good system which will locate the vehicle easily we can stop the car through web interface when the vehicle is stolen. and regarding brake message our system will send sms to user mobile number to maintain a distance between the vehicle only when user cross the limit of distance.
Theft Recovery:
Be notified with alerts and mapping data to help you identify whether the vehicle is stolen and you can take quick action to save your vehicle. It also provide the facility when your friend or family member is taking your vehicle for any purpose then from webinterface you can track him and provide the details of better route.
Improve Safety:
User can improve his vehicle safety by installing of that system because now user is always aware about his vehicle form a system which provide security from stolen and also protects it from collision .
Vehicle tracking device is made up with Arduino Uno, sensor, SIM module including GPS and GSM antenna and wifi module. The core part of tracking system is microcontroller Arduino Uno. The geo location of a vehicle can be captured through GPS receiver and that data will be transmitted to the web server by using GSM technology. That data will be stored in a database. also we sent that data on the user mobile number as a message. For monitoring the location of the vehicle on the map, we developed a web application. We made up this web application with PHP, HTML and JavaScript using XAMPP software.. using this website we control the vehicle we can switch the engine on or off through Arduino Uno and relay device. We put a sensor in front of car for measuring the distance of the front car. We set a limit of distance if distance is crossed then through Arduino and GSM system send message to user mobile to keep away your vehicle. We can also edit the distance using webinterface. The SIM module is initialized to start gathering geo location data from the satellite; device initialization is done using AT commands and includes GPS and GSM module; to turn on the GPS, first it is powered on and put in reset mode. Then the module become ready for receiving coordinates from satellite. The GPRS is next turned on; the process includes GPRS power on, setting APN of service provider, initiating HTTP protocol, and setting protocol method . Device initialization process may take up to 1 minute to worm up and calculate the accurate position. In case of network un-availability, the acquisitioned GPS coordinates and other data such as time and speed are stored temporarily until the network returns back to service then the stored coordinates are sent with their time stamp and speed. SIM requires 2A peak current. So, external power supply like 12V-2A battery is used to provide the power. GPS antenna and GSM antenna are connected to the port of SIM module. The module and Arduino have a common ground. We had uploaded the program into the Arduino microcontroller which program is written in C programming language. Uploading program into Arduino is done by using Arduino IDE software.
