Security is a major concern everywhere in the world and maintaining the security of vehicles is a toughest job. So Vehicle identification system will help to detect the vehicle by using number plates. Because number plates are the unique identifier of every vehicle. 

Python, open CV libraries, OCR (optical character recongnition) and a web camera is used for all this process. Main approach is to make people secure at any place. 

Project Objectives

? To develop fully automated system for vehicle identification.

? To make a convenient and easy to use system applicable for every small to big organization.

Project Implementation Method

Project implementation will be done using:

• Python 

• Open CV libraries

• OCR (Optical Character Recongnition)

• Web Camera 

Firstly the car is detected by using a web camera. The number plate area is extracted by the car image. Characters from the image are then read by using OCR. The characters then matched by the data saved in Data Base. If the results match then car can easily go. But if results not found then an alert will generate to ensure that an unregistered car is trying to enter in the place.
