Two wheel Jumping Robot JUMPBOT
Project Area of Specialization Electrical/Electronic EngineeringProject SummaryFour wheel robots and drones are pretty helpful when talking about delivering aid. But, they are bound because of their structure. For example,four-wheeled vehicles work pretty well on straight roads. but, they cannot enter tight places. Similarly, drones are good at surveiling the area. However, they cannot carry weight.
To counter these problems, we are develpoing a robot that somewhat has capabilities of each vehicle( Four wheel robot and drones).
Our robot consists of a two-wheeled structure that enables it to enter places where four chassis-vehicle cannot. Due to this design if incase their is any obstacle in front of robot, it will jump over it using mechanical linkages. Secondly, the bot contains ergonomic deisgn that enables it to carry weight, making it perfect for using as a delivery system incase of disasters.
Currently the robot is in prototype phase and our main goal is to stabalize the structure on two wheels. After further modifications, we will be able to design a structurre in such a way that it will be able to carry weight as well.
Project Objectives- Our goal is to develop a robot that combine the versatlity of legs to overcome obstacles by jumping and wheels, which are efficient for fast movement on flat ground.
- Robot which s fast and smooth maneuvaring on flat grounds.
- Robot which has ability to tackle dynamic overcoming of obstacles.
- Robot that can jump from/on small heights
- To achieve stabilization and driving
- To learn about more controllers and sensors
- Designing the structure
- Hardware Implementation
- Software Coding
- Simulation and Testing
Our robot has Following Benefits:-
Covering Disaster Areas
Military uses
Delivery Purposes
Technical Details of Final DeliverableHeight will be around about 2 feet = 60 cm
Obstacle height = 0.035 m = 3.5 cm
Max jump around about 0.04 m = 4cm
Obstacles width =1 cm
Obstacle detection = 60 cm about 2 feet
executable jump = 3 cm
Overall, our robot will be weighted around 2.5 to 3 kg
These specification are related to prototype robot and these can be further improved with better Components.
