Project Summary

To explore any Place or Country, we must have a proper guidance regarding it. “Tour de Soul” will provide all the necessary facilities i.e. basic details of the place to be visited, route map (directions, location details, atmosphere etc), linked hotels, restaurants, nearby places, transport, human safety measures, emergency contacts etc. on single platform. It can be used by the local/ foreign tourists to explore different spots of Pakistan. It provides a user-friendly interface and error free modules. The user can simply view all of the above mentioned information in App's guest view. In order to access the premium features i.e rating certain place, getting weather and network alerts, booking a hotel or a transport service, the user have to Create a paid account/ buy the premium version of App.

Currently, it is the need of hour for Pakistan to promote tourism in order to improve the economic stability of the country. In this regard we have taken a small initiative by developing an app “Tour de Soul” (a sort of tour guide for tourist to explore different spots of Pakistan). It may facilitate the tourists to explore the spots more efficiently.

Project Objectives

Following are some of the major objectives that compelled us to create this tour recommendation app:

• To provide a complete tour package.
• To Provide a User-friendly Interface.
• To provide error & bug free modules.
• To provide the basic information of a place even where there is no internet connectivity i.e. villages / backward areas.
• To provide facilities to local/ foreign tourist to Explore Pakistan.
• To provide precautionary alerts for Human Safety during tour.
• To provide alerts for weak internet connectivity.

Project Implementation Method

The project is implemented using "Phased Implementation method" as, Phased implementation is a method of changing from an existing system to a new one that takes place in stages. The implementation is done on the basis of main modules that divided the whole project into several stages.

Benefits of the Project

Some of the benefits of "Tour de Soul" are as following:

1. It will provide a complete tour package including place details, hotels, transport, human safety measures etc.
2. it will surely help the tourists to explore Pakistan more efficiently
3. it will promote tourism.
4. this initiative may help in improving the economic stability of the country.
5. it will inspire the tourist to explore the commonly known to rarely known places. 

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

The project "Tour de Soul" is developed using Android Studio 3.4. It uses a dynamic database i.e Firebase database (including the Firebase Auth, Firebase realtime database, Cloud messaging and storage services). it is an Android App and it will run on an android device with minimum API 23 (OS Version Android 6.0+) with all the upgraded specifications.
