Recent stats show there were 5,213 missing person cases and 3213 were disposed of while 2,000 remained unsolved in Pakistan. In busy life of today taking care of kids and old family member is becoming difficult. Further due to growing threats and criminal activities in society, complaints of missing kids and lost old persons has increased alarmingly. Recent wave of child kidnapping and rape cases has whistled the alarm. This is the time of technological support to meet such challenges. There are many man-based organizations working in this concern. Technological support with the essence of speed searching capability is the need of hour. The most important concern in developing the application is to provide people efficient and quick searching facility based on face identification and other appearance and age-related Biomarkers. This project aims to build an application with filtered search techniques, face recognition social media support, location and law enforcement.
Project Objectives- It is helpful for the people who are in search of their loved ones, especially children (unable to provide information regarding their parents or Guardians) and lost things.
- To provide user a wide classification of search w.r.t age, gender, dress, last location, city/province, etc.
- To provide a platform where searcher and finder can communicate.
To provide the location of device or person who found it.
Project Implementation MethodIn this project Agile development methodologies will be my actual concern and, Iterative and incremental development are key practices. Iterative development is a way of breaking down the software development of a large application into smaller chunks. In iterative development, feature code is designed, developed and tested in repeated cycles. With each iteration, additional features can be designed, developed and tested until there is a fully functional software application ready to be deployed to customers. The product is created in the form of increments the purpose of working iteratively is to allow more flexibility for changes.
Image processing is one the most significant technologies used in this project and to accomplish this, number of face Recognition APIs are available of different vendors like google, Microsoft, etc. but the Microsoft Face API will be of my concern because it provide better results than google API in detecting face for straight images provided by the searcher or finder. Moreover, filtered search techniques will be deployed to have the most relevant results and to appease ambiguity. It will be able to search the person with the help of data provided by user. By comparing all the possibilities, the most relevant result will be shown. User can also submit a request for that we are currently unable to find and will be provided as soon as there is something related to his/her query in the database. Search through location will be one of the most important features of this application.
Benefits of the ProjectThe growing threats and criminal activities in society, complaints of missing kids and lost old persons has increased alarmingly.
