Project Area of Specialization Electrical/Electronic EngineeringProject SummaryThe project is intended to be used in every manufacturing units where the closed loop speed control and synchronization of induction motor is required.
We are going to implement a closed loop controller which can maintain the speed of an induction motor as per the process requirement by taking the feedback from it.
The system can also be applicable for the synchronization of motors where the wide network of motors are deployed to run the whole process, so each and every motor will be adjusting its speed to make the process smooth.
Project ObjectivesDesign of a robust control scheme to achieve effective control of the motor's speed to make the process smooth and hereby enhancing the quality of production.
Synchronization of two or more motors connected together to run the whole process for example Textile printing machines.
Project Implementation MethodWe are going to use programmable logic controller (PLC) as a central controller, variable frequency drive (VFD) to vary the frequency of the motor as per the process requirement, induction motor coupled with rotary encoder to provide feedback to the controller, thereby, making it a closed loop control.
We will be using PID control scheme in order to achieve the smooth and quick control of the system, the parameters can be set through human machine interface (HMI) and the system response will be shown on the same HMI screen as well.
Benefits of the ProjectThe project will benefit almost every production unit because motors are the essential component of any process which needs to be controlled by some efficient manner in order to enhance its life time and to increase the production quantity as well as quality.
So, we believe that if any project is contributing in the betterment of the process in terms of its quality and the quantity as well, the result will be the increase exports and to fulfill the foreign and local demands.
Technical Details of Final DeliverableWe are intended to use the Delta PLC (DVP Series) as a controller, Delta VFD to vary the motor's speed and the 200 pulse encoder whose number of pulses can be increased if accuracy won't get acheived from it. Delta HMI in order to make a GUI of the system.
