Spectre is a software that would allow the users to interact, visualize and directly manipulate protein and drug   molecules in 3-dimensional virtual space environment providing precision, accuracy and clear visualization of drug molecules improving the quality of drug development process.

Project Objectives

Visualization of macromolecules in VR

User’s interaction with the molecules

To grab, rotate, or enlarge molecules and measure distances or angles between atoms.

Calculation of interaction energy between the molecules

Project Implementation Method

• Parsing of the pdb files in unity[C#].
• Parser returns the coordinates of the protein molecules.
• these coordinates are mapped into a 3d dimensional structure in in unity.
• Deployment of the pdb files into unity.
• visualisation of the macromolecules into headset

Reduction of  the time of drug discovery process

Decrease in the cost of experimentation/Computaational cost.

To speed up the drug discovery process.

To use Virtual Reality, a tool meant for gaming purposes, for a medical cause thus opening up new uses of the technology

• Deployment of the the pdb files into Oculus headset.
• Visualisation of macromolecules in headset
• User Interaction with  the macromolecules with the help of controllers
